"You look... really good," he said softly, his gaze lingering on my leather jacket and wide-leg jeans for just a second too long before meeting my eyes.

"Thanks," I said, my voice a little quieter than I intended. A smile tugged at the corners of my lips, but I tried to play it cool.

"You're not looking too bad either."

Jungkook chuckled, the sound low and slightly shy.

"I was aiming for 'not too bad,' so I guess I nailed it."

I laughed softly, the tension I'd been carrying all afternoon loosening just a little. There was something about him—something that made me feel like I didn't have to try so hard.

He stepped back, giving me space to lock the door, and we started walking down the street. The evening air was crisp, the kind that made you want to bundle up but not quite cold enough to shiver. For a few minutes, we didn't say anything, but it wasn't uncomfortable. The quiet felt... natural, like we didn't need to fill every moment with words.

"So," I finally said, breaking the silence, "you're really not going to tell me where we're going?"

He glanced at me, a faint grin playing on his lips.

"It's a surprise."

I raised an eyebrow.

"You know, some people hate surprises."

"Do you?" he asked, sounding genuinely curious.

"I don't know," I admitted, shrugging.

"I guess it depends on what kind of surprise it is."

He nodded thoughtfully, his gaze fixed ahead.

"Well, this one's a good kind. Trust me."

Something about the way he said it—calm, assured—made it easier to believe him. Still, I wasn't about to let him off that easy.

"Okay, but can I at least get a hint?" I asked, glancing sideways at him.

"Warm or cold?"

"Warm... but more cold," he said with a teasing smile.

I narrowed my eyes at him.

"That's the least helpful answer you could've given."

"Exactly," he replied, clearly pleased with himself.

I shook my head, biting back a smile. He was impossible to read sometimes, but I found myself liking that about him. It wasn't often that someone could surprise me—and Jungkook, in his quiet, steady way, kept doing exactly that.

As we walked, the distant noise of the city surrounded us, but it felt far away, like we were in our own little bubble. I caught him sneaking a glance at me again, and this time, instead of looking away, he smiled.

"You okay?" he asked softly.

I nodded, a little surprised by the question.

"Yeah. Why?"

He shrugged, his hands still tucked into his pockets.

"You seemed... quiet earlier."

I hesitated for a second before answering.

"It's just been... a weird day. A lot of attention I wasn't expecting, you know?"

He didn't say anything right away, but his expression softened.

"If it gets too much, just... tell me, okay? We can figure something out."

His words were simple, but the sincerity in his voice made something in my chest loosen. For someone I'd only known for two days, he had a way of making me feel like I didn't have to handle everything on my own.
