32- Cold Entry

Emma tilted her head.

"He's just finishing up."

Then, like it was nothing—
she looked me dead in the eye.

"You sure you want to interrupt?"

The words hit like a slap.
Too light. Too rehearsed.
Too perfectly timed.

My stomach turned.
Not from belief— but from doubt.
From almost believing.

Taehyung stiffened beside me.
Said nothing.

Because what could he say?

The bed behind her was unmade.
The lights low.
Her robe—cinched at the waist like a prize.

I blinked, throat tight.

"Tae..."

"I'm here," he said quietly.

Emma stepped back, just slightly—enough to gesture inside like she owned the space.

My knees locked.

This couldn't be happening.
Not after everything.
Not after I finally decided to forgive him.

My heart was screaming.
Rattling the cage of my ribs.

The bathroom door was closed.
Water was running behind it — a steady stream that made it almost believable.
Almost.

Emma turned slightly, casting a glance over her shoulder like she expected him to emerge at any moment.

Then her voice dropped, sugar laced with a dagger.

"It's funny, isn't it?" she said.

"After everything, this is how it ends. With you watching him realize he never needed to chase you in the first place."

That cracked something in me.

Tears surged behind my eyes, but I didn't blink.
I wouldn't blink.

Taehyung moved to speak—
But then—
Footsteps.

From the hallway.
Not the bathroom.

Quick. Heavy. Real.
The sound of someone running.

Emma turned too late.

The door beside us flung open—hard enough to rattle on the hinge.

And there he was.
Jungkook.

Out of breath. Hair damp. Hoodie askew.
His eyes locked on me first.
Then on Taehyung.

Then— Emma.
Standing in his doorway.

"Where did you get my key."

No answer.

"Emma." His voice was ice.

"Where did you get my fucking key."

Her smile faltered — barely.

"You think this is funny?" he asked, stepping closer.

"You broke into my room."

His voice dropped.

"You violated her. You used me. You staged a scene to make her think—"

He cut himself off.
The words were too vile to finish.

"You wanted her to walk in here and find you like this."

Emma didn't speak.

Jungkook's hands were shaking now.
Not out of fear — out of fury he could barely contain.
