The bed is so empty today, A strange lingering coldness over his side.

I scrunch my eyes as usual trying to adjust to the morning light filtering through the gauzy curtains,

It feels good the way it has created a warm glow on the empty bed.

I stirr from my slumber, my hand instinctively reaching for the spot where he sleeps .

But instead of finding the familiar warmth of his body, I am encountered only with cool sheets.

And immediately My eyes flutter open and I sit up, blinking in confusion.

I glance at the clock on the nightstand and realize that it is already past 9 am.

He must have left early for his meeting .

A pang of disappointment washes over me. He must have been so quiet getting ready in the morning, so that my sleep isn't hampered.

" why didn't you wake me up?" I flop back onto the pillow, burying my face in the soft cotton that still holds the faint scent of his cologne.

I have been sleeping so well with him, I don't even remember the last time I got nightmares

"I miss you," I mumble into the pillow, nuzzling deeper. The bed feels so big and empty without him. With a soft sigh, I lean over, pulling his pillow closer to me.

" What will I do without you?" I nuzzle into it, sinking my face into the fabric which still holds his scent-

a comforting blend of his aftershave and the rugged traces of his natural cologne

I sigh and roll over, plucking my phone off the nightstand to check for messages.

There is a text from him, sent just a few minutes ago.

" Good morning Ara, wake up and have your coffee, I am in an important meeting, if you need me , call me and if you can't reach me give cedric a call "

I smile, my heart getting warmed by his words.

Even hundreds of miles away, he still has a way of making me feel loved and connected.

I type back a quick reply.

"I miss you so much. Hurry back to me. " Setting my phone aside, I reluctantly swing my legs over the side of the bed. As much as I want to languish under the covers, I need to face the day.

First things first - a large mug of strong coffee to fix my mood and then I get ready for university.
