OUTSIDER || WTM

𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓 𝐓𝐖𝐄𝐋𝐕𝐄

The screen showed the Longbottom family residents, Frank was seen sitting on a plush auburn sofa in a warmly lit living room, a train set was sat in the centre of the room with various other children's toys splayed out around it. The man was tense, his eyes locked on the front door his wand held firmly between his fingers, he looked as if he were waiting for someone to barge their way into the home and ruin the young families peace.

"Its Franky!" James exclaimed, the group of boys tugging at the blushing boys shoulders playfully. Alice looked at her boyfriend fondly, squeezing his hand.

Creaking of the wooden staircase broke the man from his trance like state, his deminer never faltered from its offensive position though his eyes softened at the sight of his beautiful wife, Alice, quietly making her way downstairs. Her face lit up in a small, comforting smile as she closed in on her husband, her lips puckering to give him a small peck on the lips as she took her spot next to the man on the sofa.

"It took awhile to settle him down." Alice broke the silence, the tension in the room still thick as she spoke. "Neville is an energetic child who now had nowhere for his energy to go, he can't go outside to play on his broom or even go for a walk anymore, so by his bedtime he's still full of energy." The woman brought her hands to her temples to relieve her headache. 

Frank nodded in understanding, his eyes flittering between her face and the door. "I know, my love, hopefully we will get news on what is happening out there soon, I want my son to grow up in a safe world without the worry of someone breaking in and taking him."

The silent hall was broken by Remus. "They don't know about everything that happened with you-know-who and Harry." He muttered sombrely, he was gutted for the couple, they had to raise there child while in hiding and were not given information regularly. They didn't know that the Dark Lord was gone or that there best mates were dead. 

The tired woman sighed softly before the screen showed a wooden cot cradling a chubby baby boy that was situated in a hidden room behind a bookcase in the upstairs library. The room had been storage for potion ingredients before the couple became paranoid for the safety of their young child, they had made the room as comfortable as possible with warm fairy lights and a heating charm to keep him toasty as he slept. 

The only person to know of this set up being Franks mother Augusta Longbottom, they had told the elder woman their sacred secret so if anything were to happen to them she would be able to find the boy and care for him.

The parents who occupied the hall looked on with heavy hearts knowing that they would have done anything to keep their children safe in the circumstances the young couple were in.

"Our baby boy." Alice said, her hand placed above her heart as she stared at the baby on screen with watery eyes. Frank was no better, his eyes wonderous as if he were looking at the worlds most valuable object. 

Lily turned to one of her closest friends "He's beautiful, Alice!" she gushed in adoration, the two sharing a teary eyes smile before the girl turned to the newcomers. "Is he safe?" Alice worried, Ron answered her with a small nod smiling as relief filled the couples faces. 

"Can we meet him? would it be possible to bring him here?" Frank questioned, the group looked at each other, conversing with their eyes. 

Draco was the one to answer. "We can bring him after the next scene." Narcissa looked at her son with a knowing glint and a sombre smile, the boy mirroring her.

The screen darkened before a date lit the room.

November 2nd 1981

The full moon lit the night sky, the relief of the wizarding world palatable, but the cobblestone streets were still bare with only hunting Aurors footsteps filling the deafening silence. Stray Death Eaters still lurked in the shadows, the were dangerous now more than ever as they were rage filled and had no leader to point them at targets. Anyone who stepped outside were up for grabs.
