Marie's POV

I felt something cold hit my face. I jolted up, looking at everything. Jeff was standing there with a now empty bucket. "Get your ass up," he said while throwing the bucket aside, "We have to train."
I glared at him, then glanced at the clock. "It's five thirty!" I exclaimed, throwing my blanket over my head.
Jeff pulled my blankets off, glaring at me. "Don't blame me," he started, "Blame Slender. He told me to wake you up. And you should learn not to stay up late."
I threw my sock at his face. He yelped like a dog and threw the sock on the floor. "Stop lecturing me," I groaned as I got out of bed, "And get out. I have to change."
I pushed Jeff out of my room and locked the door. I finally have my own room. The bed was perfect size. I was allowed to make it as messy as my old room. It was painted black and white on the walls, but it wasn't noticeable for the posters and drawings I put up recently. But for some reason, it felt... lonely. I quickly changed into a red t-shirt, blue jean shorts, my necklace, and red Converse. Just in case Jeff does kill me, I kept my pepper and lemon spray in my pocket. It wasn't hard to make, rather fun to test with people. I unlocked the door and saw Jeff standing in the hall. "What took you so long, Marie?" he asked, twirling his knife.
I slapped the back of his head and replied, "Can't have patience at all, can you? And why are you still waiting? You could've gone back to bed."
He "glared" at me and started walking down the hall. "I would get in trouble," he said.
I smirked and skipped past him. "Afraid of Slender, aren't you, 'brave Jeffery'?" I teased down the stairs.
He mocked behind my back. I could tell. "Mock me again and I'll hit you again," I said, jumping the last five steps.
I turned to see him standing uncomfortably. Jeff twirled his knife again, looking at his feet. "I'm sort of," he whispered, "glad you're not dead."
I smirked again and asked, "What's wrong, Jeffery? Are you getting soft?"
He glared at me again, his cheeks turning a tiny shade of pink. "Of course not!" he yelled, "I just want you to think that while I distract you."
He jumped the last stairs and ran out the door. "No fair!" I whined as I chased after him. Why is he such a whiny baby?

Jeff's POV

I ran out the door of the house. She chased me, catching up fast. I jumped on a branch and kept going. She jumped as well and swung like a monkey. "No matter how much you look human, the zoo will think a monkey got loose, just like they did with your mom!" I teased as I hid in a bushy leaf pile.
I didn't hear her respond. I sat there for a couple of minutes. Still nothing. What the hell happened to her? I stayed still for a long time. Suddenly, I felt something push me off the branch. I grabbed on to a branch. I looked up to see Marie standing there, smiling. I never saw her smile at me before. It makes her look nice. "Found you," she said teasingly, holding out her hand.
I grabbed her hand and pulled her. She yelled and hung on to my hand. She look up, laughing. I laughed with her. "Well played, sir," she said, smiling again.
For once, I smiled back at her. I didn't realized I lost grip until I felt myself fall. We both fell into a leaf pile. I popped my head out. "Marie?" I asked, looking around.
She popped her head out and exclaimed, "Peek a boo!"
I turned and laugh. She got out the pile and walked to the path. "We should really focus. It's almost eight," she said, her face neutral again.
I looked at my watch. She was right. I got out too and started walking down the path. We walked in silence for a little bit. Quietly, Marie said, "That was fun. I never knew hanging out with you would be cool."
I looked at her. She was neutral, but her eyes were smiling and her cheeks were a slight pink. I nodded and look ahead again. Maybe she isn't so bad. She's pretty cool after all.
