𝐌𝐀𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐄 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐊𝐍𝐄𝐖 the mortal world always had a spot for her, whenever she needed one.

Whether that was in her childhood home, or in a shitty apartment, she could count on it to provide her with a temporary home.

Which is how Maisie found herself staying with her father for the year, though he was rarely there. It didn't matter. She knew war was coming on her side of the world, and she didn't want to leave on a bad note. Who knew what could possibly happen?

So, Maisie spent that year comfortable in her house, silently preparing for the upcoming chaos in her world.

Everyone knew what was bound to happen, since Kronos had been steadily gaining power, his army growing stronger and bigger. Him getting a body, his host haunting Maisie's dreams.

Preparations were crucial, training and strategy undeniably important, especially now. Maisie kept communication with camp, helping them however she could, while she readied herself too.

She was so focused on the task at hand, that it surprised her when her dad called her into the living room to hand her a letter addressed to her. Her heart skipped a beat when she recognized the sloppy handwriting.

Maisie smiled as she held the letter close to her heart. Amidst all the chaos, the bossing around, the hosting a titan in his body, he still found time to write her. To let her know he was okay, and that they'd be okay.

However much she wanted to, Maisie couldn't go searching for him. She'd done that some times, which didn't end badly, but it was different now. Kronos was much more in control than what he used to be, and Maisie needed to focus on the upcoming war anyway.

Sure, they were going to war against each other, but that didn't stop them before. They'd been through so much through the years, Maisie was certain they could survive anything life threw at them. Because they needed to.

I don't want to lose you.

The promise that had been running wild in Maisie's brain for so long, that she'd forgotten who'd initiated it.

But it didn't matter anymore. It was true, and nobody was taking that away from them.

Not even a war.
