Twice in one day?!? Oh I'm on a roll.
•••Just before he pulled the trigger I had saw his jaw tense, his one fatal flaw, that signaled he was about to shoot.
I smirked, quickly ducking and rolling, knocking over a plant, "Oh dear father," I tsked, "That was Mama's favorite vase," I flashed him a sickeningly sweet smile and ducked once again, missing a fatal shot.
"Relax Leo," I said, dodging bullet after bullet after bullet being aimed so quickly and carefully at fatal areas. I jumped up in the air just in time as a bullet came flying just between my legs, "C'mon Leo, I want kids one day," I scolded.
He ran out of bullet and turned to grab the gun beneath his desk, I grabbed both his wrists and looked him dead in the eye, "I just wanted to talk. Kill me another time," I growled.
Father slowly sat down in his chair and leaned back, eyeing me warily. "I trained you so well Jackson, it worries me," he said.
I laughed and sat down in a chair, "Very funny Papa, but I'm here on business. Business pertaining to a certain female F.B.I. agent, taken by the Knights," I said eyebrows raised.
His shoulders tensed and I knew I had him where I wanted him, "So Papa, her last name, it was Locks? A daughter, named Amy? A husband named Tyler? I want to know what happened. And don't leave out any details," I said, sitting straighter in my chair.
"What makes you think you can speak to me that way boy? I raised you, trained you-"
"And that's exactly why I can speak to you that way. I know for a fact that you didn't train the others as well as you trained me. For Christ's sake! Dante can barely throw a punch, Vivi couldn't hurt someone if she tried with a baseball bat, and you didn't even train Rico! You didn't train any of them as well as you did me because I was supposed to take your place, but then I became a threat, and the same could happen with the others. I know how to find out each of your weaknesses and I already have, I could kill you right now, that's why I can talk to you that way," I said venomously.
My father let out a low chuckle, "It's too bad you turned down the position boy, you'd make one hell of a leader."
"Well I don't want any part of it," I snarled.
He smirked and leaned forward, "Then why do you want to know about Sarah Locks?" He countered.
"I don't need to tell you," I spat.
His smirk grew and he leaned back in his chair, "I'll tell you, but when I come and find you, you have to tell me exactly what's happening, and why you need to know about Sarah Locks, what's going on, and you need to join back up," he said.
"No! No! Did I mention no! No way in hell am I coming back to your godforsaken gang. I don't want to-and won't have to deal with drugs, illegal imports and exports, and I won't go back to Italy! You didn't even give me an Italian name, I don't look Italian, I refuse to be sucked back into this ridiculous shit," I shouted.
Leo rolled his eyes, "You look like your mother, the others look like me, I'm sorry that your mother got to name the first child," he fumed.
"I don't give a shit! I won't come back, I left when I was 15, and I have no plans of returning," I yelled.
Leo rolled his eyes, "Fine, do it your way, but your not going to find anything about Sarah from me, and I can guarantee with the last name Denivior, the Knights gang won't tell you anything either," he countered.
"I won't come back. Anything else, I'll do anything else, but I refuse to come back," I said, looking him dead in the eye.
Leo gave a curt nod, "You are still my wife's son. You are not mine, you left and got a girl pregnant without marrying her, or even telling me about her, but you are my wife's son, I will help," he said folding his hands together and leaning back.
"We hired Sarah to watch the Knights, she was friends with the family, I wouldn't have made it so the only house you could get was right across the street from her. I knew that she would watch you, and watch the Knights. One night she didn't tell us she was going to watch, and she was sloppy. They caught her, and captured her, and tortured her. She refused to tell them anything. One day, there was a package at our door, with an unpleasant surprise inside," his lips curled in disgust and he shook off the memory, "Needless to say, we haven't had contact with anyone of the Locks family, but I send them 500,000 once a month as compensation."
"Well not all of us.." I mumbled.
"What?" Leo asked.
"Nothing," I said, "I need to know where the Knights headquarters are."
Leo narrowed his eyes, "I can't tell you unless you agree to join again," he said persuasively.
I stood up and walked towards the door, "I'll find it myself," and walked out the door, down the hallway, down the stairs, and out the door. I swung my leg over Suzy and grabbed my helmet. I heard a shout from the front door and looked up.
My father stood there, "Remember that old warehouse on the far side of town that I took you to? Well Jackson, I was watching some people who are our rivals," he smiled wistfully, "I never stopped watching you my son, because you are my son, come visit sometime eh? Your Mama may kill you next time," he chuckled, turning and shutting the door.
I pulled the helmet all the way into my head, and took off at eighty mph, pushing ninety,
And I knew exactly where I was headed.
