Double Trouble

chapter 6

Remus's POV:
I have everyone in my group take my arms and we apparate to the leaky cauldron. We wait for Sirius and his group and when they get here we all make our way to the alley. The first stop is getting some money for everyone. After that we split into our groups and head in different directions. We first go to get Lexi's wand. Harry follows her inside and Lucas and I wait by the door. After about a half hour or so she walks out holding a very beautiful wand. Not only is it beautiful it is also rather familiar. When I ask her about it Harry responds. "It is the exact replica of our mothers wand with our fathers core. Mine is the opposite. I have a replica of our fathers wand with our mothers core."

I stare at the two children in shock. They really are a lot like their parents. My son snaps me out of my daze reminding me that we have to brief Lexi of Hogwarts and get all her stuff along with the replacements for this year for the boys. Next we head to the robe shop. Lexi is the tallest of the Marauder children so she is fitted for robes since the boys are to short, but barely so. As we walk out padfoot and his group walks in the shop. We then head to the bookshop. Lexi also grabs a few joy reading books as well as her studies books. We then find out that she is taking private lessons with a few of the teachers because she remembers everything so she will be very familiar with the spells people have used around her. As we walk around the alley we explain everything about Hogwarts including the good teachers and secret passages.

Lexi's POV:
As we walk to the pet shop a boy with bleached blonde hair pushes me over. Harry and Lucas get very defensive as I slowly stand up. The boy then asks me a question. I glance at Harry so he can translate but he is glaring at the boy. The boy glares at me and gets in my face about me not respecting him and calling me names. 'You know what you bitch? Just shut the fuck up! I am a mute so no shit I can't answer you so get your damn wand out of your ass and pay attention!' I sign angrily. "Lexi that is very rude. You should not sign things like that with adults in your presence." Remus chastises me. I look at him and roll my eyes. Then I glance at Lucas who is holding back laughter. 'Will you tell him what I said?' He nods and verbalizes what I wanted to. At the end of it the boy is very embarised and apologizes for being so rude to me.

Harry and Lucas look shocked but I don't ask. 'What is your name?' I ask the boy through Harry who is translating now. "Draco Malfoy. And what is yours?" 'Alexandria Potter. Nice to meet you.' Draco looks at me with disgust and jealousy. 'What is up with him Harry?' "He doesn't like me one bit. I am not actually sure why but he just doesn't." Harry says in response to my question. 'He is jealous because you are famous for not really doing much. It was love that saved you not a hidden power. He wants to be in your position, to be able to walk out of the house and always be recognized.' "I never thought about it that way. Also how are you sure that is what it is?" 'One I can read peoples emotions and auras, two he is wearing his jealousy on his sleeve, three he is actually very afraid of what would happen to him if his father found out that you two were friends, and four he is letting me invade his mind so I can see what he is thinking.' "Draco if your father wasn't a threat to you would you want to be friends with me and my friends?"

"Harry honestly I would love to actually have friends because now I just have followers so your answer is yes." Draco responds. 'Would you like to be friends with me Draco?' "Yes please Alexandria. I would love to be your friend." 'Harry will you teach him sign language please? And Draco please call me Lexi everyone does. And to finish this all off I won't let anything happen to you, your father doesn't know I am alive so he will think I am worthless until he hears my name and then he will be afraid of me.' "Why?" 'I have my mothers temper. And when she was mad bad things happened.' He nods and we all walk to the pet shop. As we enter we see a woman who looks a lot like Draco. "Mother I have made actually friends like you have been suggesting for years!" Draco says excitedly pulling me over as Harry follows so he can translate.

Draco's mother smiles at me and looks astoundedly at Harry. 'He is my brother Mrs. Malfoy. He is also my translator. And yes I would like to be Draco's friend.' I sign to Harry who in turn says it all out loud. Mrs. Malfoy looks even more surprised but smiles at me all the same. "What is her name Harry?" "Her name is Lexi Mrs. Malfoy." Harry replies for me. "Well Lexi it is wonderful to meet you. I am glad that my son finnaly has a friend. Are you new this year? I have never seen you before." 'Yes ma'am I am new. It is nice to meet you as well. Draco I will see you at Hogwarts.' I then wait for their responses before walking around the shop looking. I hear a small simper from a cage in the back and go investigate. In the cage is a small pure white wolf puppy. He was whining at a cage above him which holds a bright red baby phoenix. "You can't buy one without the other." The sales lady says walking up to me and Harry. "Also they are very picky about their owners." 'Will you open the cages please?' I ask through Harry. The shopkeeper does as I asked and both animals immediately come to me. I giggle quietly and the puppy licks my hand.

'Uncle Lupin, can I have these animals please?' I sign to him. He smiles at me and nods as I count out the money for both and their things. I hand the lady 15 galleons and she hands me the needed gear. She then looks at me funny for a moment. But before she can ask anything I am steered out of the shop with my two pets following me. We meet up with the rest of our group and leave with no one else looking at me like that one lady did.
