Double Trouble

chapter 8

Harry's POV:
After Malfoy leaves Lexi sways before falling. Uncle Regulus catches her before she hits the ground and everyone looks freaked out. "She used to much of her new found magic at once. Her body just isn't used to it. She will be fine." Remus says looking her over. We all nod and Draco looks relieved? "Mum do we have to go back home?" He asks as Sarah and Becca look at him sorrow evident in their faces. Draco's mother shakes her head and he sighs in relief. I look at my half cousins confused and they answer. "He is afraid of what his father will do to him since it was his friend who did that." They explain in unison. Lexi sits up and rubs her head. She then stands up and sits back on the couch.

"So Draco you are now living here? "She asks laughing slightly. Sirius shares a look with Mrs. Malfoy and nods at her. Draco jumps around smiling and the kids and I laugh. "Wait Sirius! We all will need our own room and even if we double up there aren't enough. It would be like three people per room and these rooms are built for one person." Lexi points out. Sirius stares at her in shock then does the math in his head and sees that she is right. "Kreature!" She calls out as the house elf appears. He bows to her and she waves it off. "Please go and get Albus Dumbledor." She instructs before he bows again and leaves. Dumbledor appears with the elf and Lexi explains what happened when he left. He looks astounded but quickly is thinking to their problem. "Are you a fast runner? And if you run a new way can you get back? "He asks thinking. She nods looking confused. "Is it true you can turn into any animal you want?" She nods again. "Well can you run through the woods behind this house and get back before dark?" She thinks about it and nods again. "Dumbledor what are you suggesting?" Sirius asks looking warry. "Oh the Potter manor! It is just through the woods!" Athena yells smiling. "Really!?!" The rest of us ask in unison. We all walk out back and Lexi shifts into a huge alpha wolf. She is a dark russet color and about the size of me in this form. Dumbledor points the right way and she leans down for Draco and I to get on her back. We hold on tight and are soon rocketing through the forest at almost an impossible speed.

Lexi's POV:
The only sound for a few minutes are my large paws hitting the ground. Soon both boys are laughing and yelling in joy. I bark playfully and push my self faster as I see a small reviene that I can jump if I have enough speed. Draco is sitting right behind my shoulder blades and sees it first. "Lexi! What are you doing?!?" He yells fear evident in his voice. I push even faster and jump. Harry and Draco yell in shock and my feet touch the other side heavily. I stop for a moment to catch my breath and start to run again. Soon we all see the back of a large Manor. I run around the side and see the words Pottor Manor on the wrought iron gates. Harry jumps off and pushes them open.

Draco still is riding on my back and we both follow Harry up the drive and to the front doors. We walk inside and see beautiful wood floors and amazing stone stairs. Draco gets off my back and I shift into a human again. "Guys we need to be back before dark. It is almost sun down. I am going to turn into a half eagle half horse so we will be flying back." I say as I walk back outside to shift again. This time I am a chestnut brown hippogriff. I kneal down for Draco to get on and Harry closes the door and gate before hopping on as well. I fly low to the forest line and see everyone waiting for us. "There!" Remus yells pointing at us up in the sky. I spiral down so there is no chance of either boy slipping off because of my glossy feathers and hair. When we land Sirius helps the boy off as they rush to explain their expieriances. I shift again and Athena gives me a half hug.

"Lex would you be up for taking all of us about three at a time?" Sirius asks looking at me. I shake my head and shift into a wolf again. "Sirius if we are going to build a passage to both houses you need to know about the small reviene. It isn't so bad but kind of frightening to jump over on the back of a wolf."harry says grinning at me. I roll my eyes and huff before knealing down for Regulus, Becca, and Sarah. Regulas holds onto my colar tightly and the two girls hold onto him as I star to run again. They are all laughing until I come to the reviene and speed up significantly. When I get to the house I have to turn human to open the gates since I am a Potter. I then runback as a wolf and get Sirius, Athena, and Grayson. Eventually it is just Harry, Draco, and Narcissa. She tells me that she is going to go and get her and Draco's things and apparate to the boundaries of the manor. I look back at Draco and Harry. They are both grinning at me and I nuzzle them both before licking their cheeks softly.

Draco blushes brightly and smiles before scratching behind my ear. They then both jump on again and we are back at the manor in minutes since I can now follow my well worn path. When we get back Athena has food ready for us all and I just stay as a alpha wolf being to tired to shift back. She just gets a big metal bowl and fills it with the beef stew that everyone else was eating. I am sitting on the floor in between Draco and Sirius. The are both sneaking me little bits of food from the platters. If Athena knows she doesn't say anything. I finish my bowl and she gives me a bowl of water mixed with a potion to relieve my sore muscles. Then Narcissa appears with a bright red hand print on her cheek and tears falling down her face. She drops the bags she was holding, which had a spell to make them bigger on the inside but undetectable on the outside, and sits in an empty chair. Salty tears are falling down her face and I place my big head in her lap. She strokes my fur and I whimper or whine occasionally. She finnaly stops crying and Sirius escorts her upstairs to a bedroom.

Athena let's all us kids know that we will dominate the fourth floor and that every room is connected in someway. I am incited to crash in Draco's room to I night and I agree to sleep with Harry tomorrow night. I guess me being a big but tame wolf is comforting to everyone.
