Chapter Eight
I opened my eyes and I was surrounded by all black like in movies when you're stuck in time. What the heck?
I looked around me and there was absolutely nothing. Like all ahead of me was black. I looked up trembling in fear and gasped as I saw a golden small light towering over me, coming closer and closer. I reached for it and wrapped my hand around it. Flashes of something I couldn't describe passed over my eyes as fast as a moving train. In the visions, people who were familiar to me like Finn, August, Aaron, the whole pack and my family were acting in front of me. Then I saw blood and gore all over Finn and Aaron as they laid down next to each other. Dead. I screamed and sobbed.
"NO NO NO!" I shouted repeatedly and tried to reach for them but I was shocked by some sort of barrier.
"Tori O'Riley. It's a pleasure to meet you." Someone said. The images stopped flashing in my mind and my setting was changed entirely. I look down and see myself standing on water. I looked ahead of me to see a beautiful woman looking at me with her golden eyes. Her black wavy hair reached down to her naked feet. She wore a white large dress and wind blew around her. She was above the water with her hands out with leaves wrapping around her arms.
"Who are you? How do you know my name?" I felt like I already knew the answer to my questions but it was unbelievable.I stepped back as the leaves from her around her arms became vines and reached out to me making me fall into the water but her vines catching me.
"Careful." She smiled.
"Where am I? What do you want from me?" I asked.
"I just couldn't wait any longer. The prophecy needed to be sped up. We need to be released." She said in a serious tone.
"Okay am I dreaming right now?" I chuckled and pinched myself. That didn't work.
"You are sleeping if that's what you mean." She grinned. "My name is Nikolina Kosta. The first Lycan Royalty." That meant she is a great ancestor of Aaron and August.
I looked down at the water. Fishes were literally swimming under me.
"How did you become Lycan Royalty anyways." I asked.
"Those years were hard for me long ago. I was nothing but a farmer's daughter. I ran away from home with the love of my life and my father was heartbroken. Back then in our village they prayed to the moon. So he did so. The moon goddess made me take care of three animals like my father had to when he took care of three of my brothers and myself. One day a wolf laid down in front of me and never got up so I touched it and its soul became apart of me somehow. I became a beast and killed my father. The moon goddess cursed me. My siblings became my rivals and hunted me for centuries. I seemed to have developed abilities and changed my lover. We learned control and continued our race." She finished. By the look on her face I can tell she was saddened. This moon goddess sounded evil.
"How am I mixed up into any of this?" I asked.
"It wasn't supposed to be you. It was supposed to be Mina. But her grandmother had an O'Rileys baby of an affair so the moon goddess did not accept Mina. But for some reason she found something in you. You are a danger because your father is a hunter so I have no idea why the moon goddess would choose you." Nikolina turned around, her vines unwrapping from me.
"The curse will be broken if you bear an offspring with Aaron and August." She states. I give her a look of disgust.
"Both of them? That's..." I had no words for what she was asking me to do.
"If the prophecy is not fulfilled everyone you love dies. Like you saw in the vision." I think back to the vision I saw earlier when Finn and Aaron were dead.
"What? I don't love Aaron. Nor do I love August. No love equals no baby." I shake my head and cross my arms.
"It will happen. Whether you like it or not this is fate. Your name is written. It can not be erased."
"When Aaron told me that power must be shared with between him, August, and I or we will die and so will them and every werewolf and Lycan-Royalty, was it true?"
"Sharing power means having a baby. The baby is the power. But they don't know that. If you tell them about this their fate will be ruined and everyone is doomed."
"I still don't get it. What's the point of all this? What so called good thing will happen?" I demanded.
"Like I said, we will all be free. Stop with the questions and get to work. I decided to speed up the process and give you their mark. So now you'll be in heat and you'll have to mate. " She laughed. A white light appeared and she walked to it disappearing from my sight. My surroundings changed and it became dark again.
My eyes snapped open and I was quickly hit with the cold air. I looked around to see myself in the middle of a field of poppies. Where am I? I stood up since I was laying on the ground and looked at myself. I'm naked and covered in dirt. My hands, trembling in fear, moved to cover my privates and I walked forward. Around the field of poppies were trees. How am I supposed to get back to my new home? I needed to get home.
I shut my eyes and frustration and when I opened them again I was in my new, also naked bedroom. The floor was made of a wood planks and the walls were painted a creamy white. One door was to the bathroom and the other to exit my room. There was no balcony like my old room except two large windows and also another in the bathroom. It was completely different than what I was used to.
I shook my head in shock and took a warm shower. I stepped under the steaming water and held my hands to it, only to have the water float up as if it was avoiding my hands. I quickly put my hand down and tried it again. This time I was able to touch the water and I smiled knowing I wasn't going crazy. Then out of nowhere, without turning the knob, the water stopped. Must be the plumbing...
Was I still dreaming? I stepped out of the shower, frightened. I dressed into my pajamas and climbed into bed since it was still dark outside. I might as well sleep it off.
