IM SO SORRY PLEASE DONT KILL ME T-T!! I WAS ADJUSTING TO MY FIRST YEAR AT COLLEGE AND JUST NEVER FOUND THE TIME TO WORK ON THIS STORY TIL WINTER BREAK RAHH!!
But I'm BACK BBYYY (you may wanna reread the chapter before this 😭)
~~~2 Days Later (Bradley's POV)~~~
Bradley quietly walked through the halls of Max's dorm building.
'Hopefully he'll actually agree to this, I can't get this worked up over nothing,' he thought, in reference to his invite to an earlier, previously unscheduled tutoring session. 'Well, not technically nothing, I brought the milkshake for him too,' He continued to rationalize.
He sped up a bit, finally getting a glimpse of Max's door. With a wide but anxious grin, he lifted his fist to knock, before stopping in response to the commotion inside.
"Sooo, Max....Were you ever gonna let us in on this thing you have going on or?"
~~~~~ (Max's POV)~~~~~
"Huh?" Max paused his soft humming, turning from his homework to give P.J. a confused look.
"C'monnn, Maximilian! We saw what you were doing when you were supposed to be 'getting tutored for calculus,'" Bobby added, "you were gettin' all buddy buddy with Uppercrust! You ain't turning on us, are ya?"
Max gulped, his face flushing. All the amazing emotions he'd been holding onto from the other day were now gone, replaced with panic. His voice cracked.
"When-ahem-when did you see that?"
"A few days ago," replied P.J., "you guys were hamming it up, drinking some milkshakes."
Max relaxed a tiny bit at that. 'Time to try and salvage this', he thought, knowing that he absolutely couldn't betray Bradley's trust now.
"Chillax guys, the only reason I've been hanging out with Brad is because...well....there's no better way to learn an enemy's secrets! Right?" He shrugged his shoulders, hoping the excuse would stick. Rocky waters here, maybe he should elaborate?
"As a matter of fact! I wasn't lying about the whole calculus tutoring thing! Ya see, I'm letting Bradley believe that I think he's better than me. Having to be around him so often might be annoying, but hey, at least it'll lead us to victory this year! He's already let slip plenty of Gamma Mu Mu tactics, so we don't even have to worry about winning!"
P.J. and Bobby stared at him. The former spoke first.
"Gosh, Max, that's a big stunt to pull without telling us. Are you sure about all this? Isn't Bradley kinda....." he started to whisper, "emotionally-"
"Unstable? Exactly, which is why I didn't tell you guys. Cuz, like, the more people that know, the bigger chance that my cover would be blown," the goof tried to reason.
"Hey! We wouldn't-"
Bobby started to laugh, "ohhh, you're totes right, my bro! I definitely wouldn't be able to keep my mouth shut."
Max's shoulders lost their tension, finally assured that his cover wasn't blown. He laughed at Bobby's reply and the three continued on like normal.
What the boy wasn't aware of, however, was the spilt milkshake in front of his door, as well as the note that had been haphazardly dropped in surprise next to it.
