Nia could hear Jonelle's voice as she woke up, but she didn't stir. She felt sluggish, like the Casamigos reposado was still moving through her dead limbs and wasn't fully digested yet.
The smells of coffee brewing, bacon frying, eggs being scrambled and toast crisping golden brown wafted in the air towards Nia and churned her stomach. Nia refused to open her eyes because the room was already spinning with them closed.
"She wanted a snack, remember?" From the sound of Sarina's voice, Nia could tell her friends stood in Raven's kitchen, and by the feeling of her back against her satin pjs and cushy leather, Nia knew she had fallen asleep on her couch.
"Was that before or after her fifth performance of TGIF?" Raven asked in a tone that Nia knew was accompanied by a smirk.
"Before." Sarina said matter-of-factly.

Nia and her girls had dressed in matching matcha coloured satin pjs in honour of Nia's farewell and had a night that would have gone viral on TikTok for its aesthetics alone. That's how every time Raven hosted a bestie get together felt.
Last night, each of them prepared themed drinks or charcuterie boards that reminded them of Nia like 'money green martinis' and 'suite life sushi'. After shots of brown tequila, a few not-so-friendly rounds of UNO and a Joseline's Cabaret marathon, Nia and her girls treated Raven's living room like it was the mainstage of the Pynk until Nia apparently crashed on the couch.
"Like! Not her knowing it bar for bar - but gworllll when she bust into the splits I nearly fell out." Jonelle giggled.

Nia groaned, pain immediately shooting into her lower back and inner thighs at Jonelle's words. Her eyes fluttered open slowly as she turned her head to face her besties lining Raven's kitchen island - mimosas in hand like they were a Real Housewives intro.
