Danz Borin and Lokton stood there, blasters aimed at each other, motionless. Both were waiting for the other to make the first move, Thraak hiding behind Lokton. Suddenly, a gunshot fired into the air, and all three went running for cover and tactical advantages. No one knows who fired first, but what followed changed everything.
"What was that noise?" A voice was heard, but it wasn't the voice of any of the three. "I'm not sure, let's check it out!" Another voice responded. "Roger that." Came another. Then suddenly, 6 Stormtroopers came into view, all armed and began searching the area. Lokton and Thraak both knew it was only a matter of time before they found them and recognized them as the Tatooine fugitives, but it wasn't them who made the first move, up from his cover came Danz and shot 4 of the 5 stormtroopers before they realized what was going on. The other ran off, and was too quick for Danz. It was dead silent for the next few minutes, perfect for Thraak to think.
"I just saw 4 people die." He thought to himself in a shocked manner. "4 people just trying to do their jobs. I know Lokton had killed some on Tatooine, but I hadn't really seen that. These men died right in front of me." He began to feel tense emotions, a mix of fear, depression and rage. But he didn't have too much time until more happened.
Without them knowing, natives had been watching from the windows of their homes at the confrontation. Utapau was also under the iron fist of the Empire, and right after being controlled by the CIS, and they had had it. Many had been smuggling weapons and ammo in case of revolution. And Danz Borin was exactly what they needed to motivate them.
Not but 1/2 mile away was an Imperial storehouse, what Utapau was mainly used for. It wasn't long for that one trooper to book it all the way to tell the others what had happened. Danz and Lokton both knew this, and both deep down wished they could escape, but both wanted each dead, and neither could risk the reputation ruining move to flee. So it was here even Thraak knew they had to fight the entire storehouse.
Not soon after, 50 Stormtroopers came running down, armed to the teeth. And Thraak didn't know how long they could survive an onslaught of trained soldiers with two bounty hunters and a teen with a blaster pistol. "Your chance to surrender is over, we will shoot to kill!" The commander of the battalion yelled. All three ducked behind cover and prayed they hadn't ever had crossed paths with each other, much less the Empire. When all had seemed lost, gunshots rained from the sky onto the troopers. Thraak looked up to see 9 utapauian civilians firing down on the soldier, and after letting out a yell, 100's of others came pouring out of their homes, firing at will. The troopers were overwhelmed, and the bounty hunters both stood up to shoot the troopers as well. "For Utapau!" The rebels shouted repeatedly. In a flash, all the troopers were on the ground. Danz used this to his advantage, he started shooting at Lokton, but it would be a dry day on Kamino before that takes him off guard. Lokton began sprinting, shooting his blaster pistol, not trying to hit yet, just to distract him from Thraak. But Thraak didn't want this. Something had snapped in Thraak's head after he saw the death of so many in so little time. He felt the urge to take on the Empire. He remembered how just a short day ago, he told Quanos he might want to do what Lokton did. Maybe this was his calling. But he wouldn't know until he shot his first shot.
At this point the duel had again been interrupted by something. The war going on around them. And at this point as they watched the war for independence rage around them, they realized that the only way to stop the flow of Stormtroopers was to take down the storehouse. Both bounty hunters had a good bit of thermal detonators with them, and with the help of a few rebels, it could be pulled off. They gave each other a look, and both sprinted towards the storehouse.
It wasn't hard to bypass security, as there was none. They had all gone to fight. If they were going to blow the place, they were going to have to throw detonators at the bomb storage vault. It would be hard, bypassing any inside and not setting off anything else. But it could be done with both of their experience and without Thraak.
Danz and Lokton stormed the warehouse without a second thought, most workers surrendering, some unsuccessfully fighting back. The bomb storage was put in the middle of the warehouse. "Oh well, guess the Empire isn't as smart as we thought." Danz said with a sinister chuckle. Lokton knew he had to be careful with this, one wrong step and he could be fried by the explosion. And then it hit him, thermal detonator is instant death, so a time bomb is the only way to have a chance at living. Signaling the change to Danz, he planted the bomb, and set it for 1 minute. That was the farthest he could go before more imperials would show up. He hesitated, set it, and ran. All he could focus on was running. He didn't even notice Danz struggling to keep up with him. He barely got outside before the whole place blew. He noticed a lot of workers running. Oh well, the Rebels will probably get them. Then something else caught his attention. He noticed Danz on the ground not to far from him, burning and screaming. "Guess the armor isn't as effective as it looks." Lokton thought. "Help...me!!!" Danz screamed. Lokton looked at him, emotionless as always. He grabbed Danz's own pistol, and put him out of his misery. That's all he could do. That was the bounty hunter business for you. They're your ally one second and the next, their gun is pointed at you. As the number of imperials dwindled, the rebels cheered as Lokton walked away from the warehouse. He found Thraak with an empty blaster pistol. He had been out here helping the rebels. He motioned for him to followed, and they both loaded the ARC. Lokton gave Danz's fighter to the rebels as a gift. As they took off, both were silent. They were ready for home.
