"No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends."
John 15:13

"Jersey, what's wrong?" Judith's voice could not hide her distress at seeing her lover's cracked state.

Julie was examining her damaged exterior and the light protruding from her insides. This was something new, something that nobody in the house had experienced before.

Still holding the back of her head, Mel was able to stand and throw Julie quick glances as her brain still spun from the concussion she was dealt from the recent impact.

"Sheridan! Come quick!" Judith called for her friend, the one person who may have had an inkling of what was happening. However, she did not but Judith had no other ideas or options at that moment in time.

Sheridan and Sam were stood in the doorway observing the spirit. Judith presumed Lyle was still downstairs, not eager to come up to join them.

"Julie!" Mel cried. "I'm sorry. How can I fix this?" She ripped the ring from her finger and threw it to the floor near Judith. "Tell me how I can help you!" Mel leaned towards Julie and offered to bring her in for a hug but Julie refused.

Stepping back, Julie did not want Mel's comfort. The crack across her stomach was starting to spread and she feared what that could mean.

Sheridan stepped forward, "Give her space," she demanded.

"What's happening?" Sam asked, not knowing half of what was going on.

Julie panicked and without a second thought she phased through the floor beneath them into the room below.

"Julie!" Judith gasped.

"Downstairs," Mel said at once although she wavered after trying to make a quick movement. She still felt a sharp pain and dizziness from her fall.

Sam and Judith made it down the stairs first. They were met by a glow in the front room and they entered to see a glowing Julie embraced with her old friend.

Lyle looked towards them and spoke softly, "I am not an expert, but I believe Julie may be crossing over."

Tears came to Judith, "We didn't get to make a choice."

Sam put a comforting arm around her, "I'm sorry, Judith. I wanted this but now that it's happening I wish I could take back my thoughts."

"It's finally happening then?" Sheridan asked as she entered the room. She turned to Judith and the now approaching Mel. "This part is not for me to witness, I'll wait outside for you to say your goodbyes." Sheridan left the house to stand by the car.

"I'm so sorry, Julie. This was not meant to happen this way," Mel sobbed.

Julie smiled at Mel before turning to Judith, "This is not the end," she said positively and walked out of the room away from everyone.

"Where are you going?" Judith asked while fighting to hold back the tears. Julie only turned back to smile at her before disappearing from view. The glow surrounding her became more vivid as she left the room.

"This brings me great joy knowing that she will now be at peace," Lyle spoke quietly and with a smile the others did not match.
