Peter carries me back to my apartment where I get ready for my late night shift at Oscorp.

"You know, you really should talk to Harry and see about him changing my schedule to day shifts only. I can barely operate after twelve," I laugh but announce the truth.

"That can more than likely be arranged," he replies and mirrors my smile.

"Well, here's your stop," he says and walks over to the lobby with me. "I'll call you tomorrow afternoon to retrieve details on our double date so don't forget. I love you."

"And I love you. Be safe." And with that, he kisses me on the cheek and wishes me a good night at work.

I walk through the lobby and over to the elevators. One elevator door is opened but begins to close and I run over to try to catch it. An arm sticks out and opens the doors back up.

"Oh my goodness. Thank you," I say with a smile to the stranger standing next to the grid of numbers on the wall.

"It's absolutely no problem at all. What floor?" he asks. His smile stands out the most because of his pearly white, perfect teeth and his eyes compliment his dark hair very well. They stand out with being a turquoise mixed with a darkened lime green.

"Six please."

"How wonderful. So am I."

"Oh you live up there? I've not saw you before. Maybe I need to pay more attention these days," I joke.

"Oh no, I just moved in a few days ago," he explains. "I didn't catch your name."

"Gwen. Gwen Stacy."

"Well it's nice to meet you. I'm Lewis Salvatore."

"It's a pleasure meeting you," I compliment as I step off of the elevator.

"The pleasure's all mine, Ms. Stacy," he smiles and steps off with me.

We both walk over to our rooms and say good night. I look over at the time and realize it's almost 8:30. I have to be in my 9:15, so I rush around to find my lab coat, black skinny jeans and blue t-shirt. I pull on black Keds striped with small chevron lines.

I look in the mirror and my look seems as if to say, "My outfit was thrown together in a matter of a few seconds but do not question it," and that I'm okay with because it's the exact look I was going for.

I pull my hair back into a pony tail and walk out of the door, locking it afterwards.

My trip to work is not as slow as I wish it would be and I walk in to complete the longest hours of my life.

I walk over to the machine that ticks and tocks and only works half of the time. When I slide my card under to record the time and clock in, I see someone familiar.

Oh, is that Lewis? I didn't know he started work here. I guess work wasn't brought up when we were in the elevator.

He notices me about the same time I do, and he walks over to me.

"Oh wow, I didn't know you worked here. What a small world."

"Tell me about it.  What is it you do here?" I sound very nosey but he doesn't seem to care.

"I do a little work in analytical chemistry.  You know, drugs and chemical stuff.  I love blowing up things," he laughs.

"That's understandable."

"If you don't mind me asking, what's yours?"

"Oh, I'm not that far up on the totem pole.  I have a paying internship here which helps with college," he nods along as I explain.  "It's absolutely wonderful.  I'm like a tourist guide that walk around with people who come to walk around and see what the future consists of."

"Your job sounds better than mine," he jokes.  "Well, I better get going before I'm considered MIA," he laughs.  "I'll see you around.  Have a good day."

"Thank you.  You too."

As Lewis walks away, Peter stalks over.

"Who the hell was that?" he huffs.

"Good morning to you as well," I counter. "He's a man that I met in the elevator that lives on my floor.  I didn't know that he had a job here.  It's sort of ironic really."

"Well he seems like a stuck up douche and I don't like him."

Peter's always been the jealous type, but he's taking it a bit too far.

"No he's not.  He's a great person.  Don't bash him until you know him."

"We'll see about that."
