Clarkes pov

When I open my eyes the space beside me in my bed is empty. There is movement in the living area and I get up to take a look.

Echo is walking through my tent, collecting my things and putting them into a large bag.

„Are we already going home?" My voice sounds comes out deeper, hooded with sleep.

„It's actually pretty late in the morning and everyone else is up, so yeah."

How long did I sleep?! Usually, I am the first to wake up in camp. „Why didn't you wake me up?"

„You needed it and I thought, I could pack for you and wake you up a bit before we move out." She says it like it's the most obvious thing. I just mumble a „thanks" in response and start to put my armour and warpaint on.

Once I'm done the rest of my things already landed in the bag and we get out to pack the tent together.

The army is quieter than usual, not much though, while we walk towards our home. The whole town surrounds us, trying to see where the queen is.

As the next in the chain of command, it is my job to tell everyone the news, so make my way to the castle. I walk the stairs up and stop at the very top, overlooking the whole crowd which quiets down once they realise that I want to make an announcement.

„Wor ste odon. (The war is over.)" I am disrupted by loud cheering which I stop with a sign of my hand. „Em ended kom wamplei kom oso haiplana chon started em kos kom em gaf in rule odon Heda en houd emas.

Heda allowed oso gon miya hou en sad op branon reinseda since der ste non ona tayon kos kom hainofa roans wamplei few yiron bakon. whoever gaf in gon hed op oso na don gon raun ewon chon gaf in gon compete gon wamplei. oso na stot au gonplei moron gon raz. Taim du nou ste agreeing kom aukom kom moron emo na kol au wina gon solo gonplei gon wamplei gon teik au hodgeda kom we haiplana o haihefa kos mowas.

(It ended with the death of our queen who started it because of her want to rule over the commander and world itself.

The commander allowed us to come home and choose a new leader since there is no one in line because of Prince Roans death a few years back.Whoever wants to lead us will have to fight everyone who wants to compete to the death. We will start the fight tomorrow at dawn. Until then you have time to decide if you will fight or not. When someone is not agreeing with the outcome of tomorrow they can challenge the winner to solo fight to the death to take the position as queen or king for themselves.)"

Everyone is silent. I know that some might be grieving the queen but I also know that most are happy that the war is over but won't express it to respect their dead leader.

I descend the stairs again and head straight to my home, now empty without Artis, to get some sleep. The way from the camp to this town took the whole day and got me exhausted.

Ignoring the absence of my father, I am fast asleep before I even hit the pillow.

Sorry that I didn't upload the last few days and that this chapter is very short but I don't get enough sleep recently and feel ill. I know this isn't much but I wanted to write at least a bit to keep the story going.
