Historians of the Imperial Library will say that I am a liar and heretic, but they have often hindered and killed true researchers simply for discovering and bringing such things to light.

For myself, I, (a Skyrim born Breton), have been imprisoned twice by the Thalmor and faced horrible tortures for my devotion to the Truth. The Stormcloaks hate me and have given me many blows for refusing to worship Talos. The Greybeards also despise me for my beliefs. May the All-Maker have mercy upon them all, for I confess that I have wronged none of them.

My research began at the College Library of Winterhold. I enjoy rebinding old books and Urag gro-Shub appreciates my efforts to preserve the contents.

In SHEZARR AND THE DIVINES by Faustillus Junius, Subcurator of Ancient Theology and Paleonumerology Imperial Library, I learned that the Empress Alessia created the religion of the Eight Divines from older Aldmeri and Nordic pantheons.

In THE DRAGON WAR by Torhal Bjorik I learned that the Dragon Priests ruled over both the ancient Aldmeri and the Nords.

My friend and colleague Shemoel also informs me from his archeological journeys that Alduin is in fact a very real Dragon, and that there were in fact eight original Dragon Priests.
Thus I conclude that the Aedra Auriel and Alduin the World Eater were combined by the Slave Queen Empress Alessia into the false religion of the Eight Divines as Akatosh, for the mergence of political and religious ties, between the Aldmeri Dominion and men.

Auriel is the leader of the Aldmeri Aedra, ("Ancestors"), and was worshiped by the early elves as Anu, (the Everything), in the place of the All-Maker.

The book BEFORE THE AGES OF MAN by Aicantar of Shimerene gives us a good description of the most common perspective of Creation held by the races of Tamriel, but this is highly suspect for the reason that it has been forced upon a people by the Aldmeri Dominion.

In other places it is clear that the Altmer (modern descendants of the Aldmer) claim to be descended from the Aedra, other than this, we don't know much other than that they came from the Island of Aldmeris (also known as 'Old Ehlnofey') and settled in southwestern Tamriel.

In A POCKET GUIDE TO THE EMPIRE I discovered that,
"The Aldmeri Dominion is a relatively recent creation."

And that the,
"High elves consider themselves to be the only perfect race. Over hundreds of generations they have bred themselves into a racially pure line, and are now almost identical to one another in appearance. The theory that the High Elves do not reproduce as quickly or as often as humans is false. Rather, and to my horror, they kill nine out of ten babies born to them in their obsession for purity."
"They feel no real tenderness for one another and have no concept of compassion . . . They are decadent and self-obsessed . . . Each of them is concerned solely with himself . . . "

If these inhumane beings murder their own young, they surely couldn't see anything wrong in teaching their children lies, thus it is this author's opinion that no human can rely on Elven based histories. For following their reason would eventually lead to them destroying their imperfect history and rewriting it to whatever standard that they might conclude is perfect.

As apposed to the doctrine taught by the Empire and the Aldmeri Dominion, there is another older version of the Creation, still remembered by some of the Nords.

I refer to the one known to the Skaal as the All-Maker, though the modern Skaal have all but lost the old understanding of who the All-Maker is. According to the CHILDREN OF THE ALL-MAKER by Tharstan of Solitude,
"For the Skaal, the All-Maker is the source of all life and creation. When a creature dies, its spirit returns to the All-Maker, who shapes it into something new and returns it to Mundus. The concept of death as an ending to life is unknown to the Skaal. Rather, death is seen as simply the beginning of the next stage of an endless journey."

This shows that the modern Skaal have been influenced by the Aldmer, and thus the All-Maker has become similar to the one known to the Aldmer as Anu, (the Everything).

So to the Skaal, the All-Maker is no longer the Creator of all, but instead is the consciousness of the collective creation itself, according to their understanding, and if the Skaal walk in harmony with nature, they believe that they are walking in harmony with the All-Maker, rather than the old understanding of walking with the All-Maker and thus walking at harmony with all of His creation.

The Skaal also miss the point that at one time the perfect creation rebelled against the All-Maker and as a result it is now breaking down.

For as the ancient song THE BEAUTY OF DAWN goes:
"A serpent lights the ancient sky
A threat of tainted stars
Evil stirs and in its wake
The souls of mortals sway . . . "
