Chapter 31 Dungeon (2)

"By the way, Danny."

"Hm?"

"Why did you choose that Dungeon? Its difficulty is clearly higher than yours though?" Liz asked curiously.

"Um, um. I was wondering the same thing." Briar continued Liz sentences.

We were on the bus to the entrance of the dungeon I had chosen. After a while of small talk, Liz finally asked the question that Briar was also wondering about.

"The reason why I chose the Colupia Ruins? Hmmm..."

I was a bit tongue-tied when I was asked that out of the blue.

"According to the description, the Dungeon is laid out as a maze with narrow passages. I'm, well, you know, I'm pretty weak. I'm afraid of being surrounded, so I chose this one. Narrow passages mean monsters will attack in small groups, so if we arrange our formation well, we can totally handle it even if the difficulty is higher than our rank."

I'm not a genius or anything. I'm just an ordinary person with ordinary thoughts. I can't think of anything complicated or make any grand plans. That's the simple reason why I chose this dungeon.

My choice might be wrong, but I know that I won't die because of the life-saving items that Hollis distributed. It's okay to take a risk.

"That sounds reasonable."

Briar nodded in agreement, while Liz just silently thought about something.

"What's wrong?"

Seeing Liz's expression made me curious. She must have something to say.

"Okay, I won't mention the monsters anymore since you have a point. But what about traps and mazes? Is there anyone among us who's good at spotting traps and has a good sense of direction? Because I'm hopeless. I'm terrible with directions..."

Liz answered me with another question. Luckily, I had already expected this question.

"I can detect traps. My eyesight is pretty sharp, you know." I patted my chest and said proudly.

With the Sharp Gaze skill in hand, why would I be afraid of falling into traps? Just by activating the skill, I can see the small, unusual details, thereby avoiding the traps. I don't believe that an E-rank Dungeon would have traps so sophisticated that my skill can't see them.

"What about determining the direction? I'm not very good at that either...". Briar scratched his head while smiling bitterly.

"Ah... that's...". I stammered.

"That's...?". Liz looked at me curiously.

"...oh well. Let's just leave it to fate." I smiled wryly while the corners of my eyes twitched a little.

"..."

The atmosphere suddenly became a little awkward.

What am I supposed to do? I'm not an expert on dungeons. In my past life, I was such a coward that I never even entered a dungeon. Not to mention, I'm terrible at navigation. Somehow, our team is miraculously made up of people who are all bad at finding their way around. It's like a cosmic joke or something.

The more I thought about it, the angrier I got. What the hell did I do for the 13 long years of my previous life? If I had just bothered to participate in Dungeon conquests, I would at least know some basics.

"Hey Danny, you seem a bit off. Is everything okay?"

Liz asked when she saw my face, which I guessed was as dark as the bottom of a pot.
