Carissa

Carissa stood in her living room, nervously straightening the throw pillows on her couch. Today was a big day. The home inspector was due to arrive any minute, and she wanted everything to be perfect. The upcoming wedding and the plans to become a foster mom to Baby Camryn meant that her home needed to be in top shape.

Just then, the doorbell rang. Carissa took a deep breath and opened the door to greet Mr. Hargrove, the home inspector. "Good morning, Mr. Hargrove. Thank you for coming."

Mr. Hargrove smiled warmly. "Good morning, Carissa. It's my pleasure. Let's get started, shall we?"

They began the inspection, moving from room to room. Carissa followed closely, answering questions and taking notes on any recommendations. As they reached the nursery, Mr. Hargrove paused to admire the thoughtful decorations and cozy setup. "You've done a wonderful job here. This room looks perfect for Baby Camryn."

Carissa beamed with pride. "Thank you. I want her to feel safe and loved here."

After a thorough inspection, Mr. Hargrove turned to Carissa with a reassuring smile. "Everything looks great. Just a few minor adjustments, and you'll be all set."

Carissa thanked him, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. "I appreciate it, Mr. Hargrove. This means a lot to me."

Later that day, Carissa made her way to Pastor Theodore's house. They had arranged for his home to be inspected as well, to ensure everything was in order before they merged their lives together. When she arrived, Theodore was waiting on the porch, waving her over.

"Hey, Carissa! Mr. Hargrove just finished up here too. Come on in," he said, leading her inside.

Carissa entered, feeling the warmth and comfort of Theodore's home. They joined Mr. Hargrove in the living room, where he was going over his notes.

"Theodore, your home is in excellent condition," Mr. Hargrove said. "Just a couple of minor fixes, and you'll be good to go."

Theodore nodded, glancing at Carissa with a smile. "Thank you, Mr. Hargrove. We appreciate your thoroughness."

As Mr. Hargrove left, Carissa and Theodore sat down together, feeling a sense of accomplishment. "Everything is falling into place," Carissa said, her voice filled with excitement.

Theodore took her hand, squeezing it gently. "Yes, it is. Soon, we'll be married, and Baby Camryn will be with us. Our home will be filled with love and laughter."

Carissa leaned in, resting her head on his shoulder. "I can't wait for our future together, Theodore. It's going to be wonderful."

With their homes inspected and their hearts full, Carissa and Theodore knew they were ready for the beautiful journey ahead.

Carissa was back at home, tidying up a few last details in the nursery. The room felt ready and waiting, filled with warmth and love. Just as she finished placing a soft, plush toy in the crib, her phone rang. She glanced at the caller ID and saw it was from the foster agency.

"Hello, this is Carissa," she answered, her heart pounding with anticipation.

"Good afternoon, Carissa. This is Mrs. Davis from the foster agency. I'm calling with some wonderful news," Mrs. Davis said, her voice full of warmth.

Carissa held her breath, waiting for the words she hoped to hear.

"I'm delighted to inform you that you've passed the home inspection with flying colors. Baby Camryn will be joining you very soon," Mrs. Davis announced.
