Caty knew how she was beginning to struggle with Iain being in hospital. She knew he was still in a coma. But they were going to try and bring him round.

She was thankful to Chloe who had been having the girls a lot while she was there for Iain. She had no idea what she would do without her. It was so hard and all Caty wanted was for Iain to be back home.

Caty hadn't been able to sleep so she had been staying with Chloe and her dad. It was awkward at times as she had heard them having sex. But she knew she was more focused on Iain waking up and recovering.

All she knew was that it was ever so hard without Iain. But she had to somehow muddle through. And hope that he would wake up soon.

Morning came all too quickly and she walked into the kitchen. She looked to see Chloe and smiled. "Hey. Are you still okay to have the girls? I just... they're waking Iain up today. And I wanna be there,"she said.

Chloe rolled her eyes and grinned. "You know I'm happy to have them. You don't need to ask. All I want is for Iain to be okay. And to be healthy. The girls can stay as long as you need them too. Plus Emilie loves having her nieces here. She says they make her feel like she has little sisters."

"You don't know how much this means to me. I don't know what I'd do without your help. I'll make it up to you," she said.

"None of that. We're family. And family helps each other out. I love having the girls here too. It gives me a sense of normality. Which I love."

Caty arrived at the hospital. She saw Sam who was waiting for her. "Dad. Is everything okay?" She asked as she looked to him.

Sam sighed. "They're bringing Iain around. 5pm. Your mum didn't want to tell you in case it doesn't work. But you need to know," he told her.

Caty frowned. She looked to him. "Why does she not want me knowing? He's my husband. Surely that means something. Dad. What's her problem?"

"She's worried he won't wake up. She's trying to protect you. I can understand where she's coming from. But you need to remember that he is your partner. You're his next of kin. So you have to be there," Sam told his daughter.

Caty nodded and sighed. Knowing it was all too much for her to deal with at the moment. Her main priority was Iain and making sure he was okay.

***
Caty sat by Iain's bedside. She took his hand and smiled. "I know you can hear me. But if you want to go, then you go. I'll be fine with the girls. It will hurt for a long time. But I'll be fine," she mumbled.

She knew all too well she didn't want him to leave. But would he wake up? And if he did, would he still be her Iain?
