Bellamy POV
"You were, supposed to be watching him!" I yell at Finn giving him a shove.
Finn is startled but pushes me back. "Do I look like a babsitter?"
"Bellamy stop" Clarke says getting between us.
"This is on you princess! Finn was supposed to be guarding him. What were you two doing out there alone anyway?! And where is everyone?"
"We were looking for some herbs" Clarke said defensively.
"Wouldn't you have needed Monty then?" I point out.
Her blue eyes glittered at me dangerously.
"Fine. I get it. OK?" She snaps.
"No! Its not OK Clarke! He escaped because you guys were irresponsible!"
"You act like we were the only ones in camp. How did he get out without anyone else seeing him Bellamy? Did you stop to think about that?" She yells at me.
Damn I hate it when she's right.
I stalk off without another word.
Clarke POV
Bellamy is really angry. I hate lying. Octavia so owes me for this.
"Don't worry about him" Finn interrupts my thoughts grabbing my hand.
I pull away slowly. "I know how to handle Bellamy. " I say starting to walk away.
"Maybe we can go for a walk later?" He asks, eyes hopeful.
"I think we've done enough walking for today Finn. Excuse me I have to find Octavia. " I answer, thankful to have an excuse to get away. Finn is cute but not my type.
It takes a few minutes, but I find Octavia out by the fire waiting for dinner.
I sit next to her, noting she is far enough away from the others that no one can hear us.
"Octavia, you have to tell Bellamy the truth. I hate lying to him about all of this."
"I can't! You know how he is! Please Clarke? Just a little while longer?" She pleads.
"Fine! I won't say anything to Bellamy"
"Won't say anything to me about what?" Bellamy asks, standing there arms crossed, eyebrows raised, looking back and forth between the two of us.
I know in that moment we look guilty.
We are so busted.
Octavia gulps.
"Octavia? " Bellamy prompts."Just tell him Octavia. "
Octavia sighs.
"Do you remember when I left camp and got hurt?"Bellamy nods stiffly, lips pressed together in a line.
"Well it happened really far from camp, I hit my head and Lincoln found me..."
"Lincoln? "He prompts
"The man you were holding to question. He helped me get back because I would never have made it on my own. "
"You helped him escape didn't you?" Bellamy accuses angrily.
"He shouldn't have been locked up anyway! " Octavia points out with a temper of her own.
It must run in the family.
"Why didn't you just tell me Octavia? I would have listened. " he says ruefully.
"Is that why you were out with Finn?" Bellamy asks suddenly looking at me.
"Yes. I'm sorry Bellamy. I was only helping Octavia..." I trail off glad that the truth is out.
"How am I supposed to trust either of you again? "
"Because we aren't going to lie again. Are we Octavia? " I day firmly, giving her a look.
"I'm sorry Bell" is all she says.
"I think he could help us Bellamy... "
I start but my words are cut off by the sound of a horn.As we look around first we notice is the sky is getting dark and a strong wind is blowing.
The horn blows again. Loud and long followed by a loud booming sound and the sky flashing with light.
The next thing we know water us falling from the sky.
Rain
Everyone grabs their things, the rest of the food and runs inside the ship, Octavia included but I can't help just standing there, feeling the rain on my upturned face.
"Are you coming princess? " Bellamy's voice cuts through my thoughts.
"I'm sorry about lying Bellamy" I reply, not moving.
"Me too. I know how Octavia can get"
I nod still not moving until Bellamy literally picks me up and throws me over his shoulder.
"Bellamy! Put me down!" I yell pounding on his back.
"Sorry princess. We can't have our only medic dying from hypothermia."
"You are such an ass Blake!"
"Such language for a princess"
"Stop calling me that"
"You're wish is my command. " he smirks putting me down inside the ship.
He doesn't immediately let go of me and I can feel myself breathing hard as I see a look of amusement and maybe something else...
I jerk away suddenly.
"You better change too. We can't have the Captain of the guard dying of hypothermia either!" I snap and head upstairs quickly before he can respond.
