Chapter 24: Mate

Chapter 24

Jake nodded his head. "So are there classes I need to take or something" he laughed "not exactly" I nodded slowly "alrighty then, um Aspen, Evan and I are going out we'll be back in an hour or so"

I left his office before he could say anything and waited for my siblings in the car. As I was waiting I saw Katy and Ricky cuddling on a blanket in the grass, like she wasn't just fucking the alpha or anything, I started the car and they looked at me and Katy's eyes went wide. Ricky waved at me and I smirked at Katy and then waved back at Ricky, Aspen and Evan piled in the car and we drove into town. We drove past tiny shop and restaurants, trying to find somewhere that seemed like a good place to discuss our birthday plans

"Oh" Aspen said from the backseat "what" I said not taking my eyes off of the road "we could try that place" she pointed out of the window to an old looking ice cream shop "how do you feel about it" I asked Evan "I'm down" and as soon as he said that I whipped into the nearest parking spot and turned off the car. We climbed out of the car and entered the shop, we ordered ice cream and sat down.

I cleared my throat and before I could say anything Evan jumped in "so I'm thinking we go to a huge field dressed in all white okay, and then we fill water balloons with paint and I believe the rest is pretty self explanatory" I liked the idea but Aspen thought differently "come on Evan this is supposed to be our sweet 16 don't get me wrong I love the idea but I'm thinking a little more formal ya know" Aspen had a point, it's a huge milestone in oirr lives, I cleared my throat again "how about from 3-5 we do the paint balloon fight and from 8-11 we do the formal ballroom shit" Evan and Aspen exchanged looks and smiled

"I like that idea very much, what about you Evan" he gave me a thumbs up "alright well that didnt take nearly as long as I thought it would" Aspen took a bite out of her ice cream "we aren't done yet, we still have to plan the second half of the party" Evan and I signed in unison "softball/baseball ice cream cake, in the ballroom at the pack house, we wear blue and we can go dress/tux shopping on Friday" I basically settled the whole thing right there. Aspen looked at me clearly impressed, "alright well I guess that's it, I'm taking Blake as my date, who are you guys taking" I blushed and Evan started playing with his ice cream "I'm going with Bea" I said taking a bite "I don't know I'll probably just go with whoever wants to go with me" Evan shrugged, Aspen nodded slowly

After 30 minutes of talking about random shit, and my alphatude we decided we were going to head back to the pack house. "Shotgun" Aspen screeched as we walked to the car, Evan groaned "that's not fair, I'm older" Aspen rolled her eyes "by like 4-8 minutes" Evan climbed in the back and Aspen in the front I turned the key and the car roared to life. We drove back to the house in silence and all clambered out of the car and into the house it was 5:45 when we got into the house and Jake wad standing in the living room waiting for us "have you guys decided what you want to do" we exchanged looks and put an evil grin on our faces "yes" we said together and Jake looked terrified

We all sat down on the couch and we explained the plan "interesting, I love it" I stood up and walked to the kitchen "where do you think you're going" Jake asked turning around "to get food" he turned back around and waited for me to come back "as you probably know you're brother is the next alpha" my brother and sister nodded "that means by default Evan you are the future beta" Evan's eyes went wide "so what do we have to do for preparations? Do we even need to prepare? Does it just come naturally" Jake sighed " well when both of you turn 18 you will have a ceremony and you will assume your positions as alpha and beta of this pack"

Just talking about this made my heart pound and adrenaline rush through my bloodstream. By the time the discussion was over it was 8:37pm I stretched out my arms and yawned loudly "I'm gonna go upstairs I'll catch you guys later" they all said goodnight to me and I was lazily climbing up the stairs, half asleep when I bumped into Bea on the fourth floor "we really need to stop doing this" she giggled and moved out of my way but I moved with her "my bad" I could tell my voice was husky and she blushed, I scratched the back of my neck.

"Hey, uh Bea, if I say this wrong I'm sorry, I'm kinda half asleep at the moment so bear with me" she giggled again and nodded slowly "I feel really bad that you had to ask me to my own party so, I was wondering if yoy wanted to be my date" she laughed and slapped my bare arm "if I asked you the first time what makes you think I would want to say no when you asked me" I smiled shyly and scratched the back of my neck again "have I ever told you how adorably adorable you are" I smiled and yawned "no I don't think you have" she looked down, her cheeks red "well you are, I'm going to go so you can go to sleep, goodnight Oliver" she went to move again and I moved with her "wait just one second, I want to do something" she nodded and looked at me.

I pulled her into my chest, I had taken my shirt off on the way up the stairs and it was now draped over my right shoulder , she looked down and I put my finger under her chin so she was looking at me. I leaned down and glanced from her beautiful brown eyes to her full lips back to her eyes. I slowly moved closer making sure she was okay with it "just kiss me already, you big dope" she breathed put and with that I took the initiative and connected our lips together. Her lips were so soft and warm I could kiss them forever 'mate, mate mate, mate' Ace shouted over and over and I eventually felt him take over

"Mate" I growled lowly and she pulled away from me "I'm sorry but Ace I just I-" she put her finger to my lips and stood on her tip toes and whispered in my ear "mate" and then she pulled away and headed back down the stairs. I was smiling like an idiot, im sure of it I practically floated up the stairs and into my room, floating back down onto the bed. I just kissed Bea and she's my mate could this day not get any better I think not.

I drifted to sleep, thoughts of Bea swarming my brain
