Abbi's P.O.V.

I was sitting in my room after dinner, thinking. I wonder if Niall likes me? I always used to dream about him and me getting married. I like the fact that he might like me, but it is killing me inside to not know. We have to go and fight tomorrow. I'm a little worried, because we had training earlier. Some people are good at aiming, others are at traps, and killing. I am good at killing, and solving problems. Clarissa is good at setting traps, and finding shelter. Sadie is good at finding, water and killing food. We are the perfect team, we don't know where the arena is going to be held yet. I assume somewhere big, but you never know. Suddenly there was a light scratching from behind the wall. I don't know what it is, but I am going to find out. I get up, and walk to where the noise is coming from. I hear something but I don't know what it is. I grab the disconnected useless phone that is on the side table. and smash it through the wall. Almost hitting the little baby kitten, that is covered in dust and dirt. I carefully reach in and grab, I look, her. Oh my gosh a kitten, I cradle her in my arms, and look for any signs of bite, or scratch marks. She is healthy, I take her to the bathroom and get a wash cloth with hot water. I start rub her down, and clean her off. Underneath I see a gray, and orange coat of fur. You need a name, what to call you? Fluffy, no how about, no your a girl. How about Mella, she meowed when I said the name. Yes, you look like a Mella. I went into the other room, and grabbed the bowl that held mints, and dumped the mints on the bed. I filled the bowl up with water, and set it down on the floor. She went to it right away. I had to fill it up three more times, then she crawled up on my shoulder and snuggled in my neck.

I woke up then next day and Mella is gone, and there is a knocking at the door. Just a second I yelled. Looking under the bed to see a frightened Mella. It's okay Mella, I crawl under the bed, and grab the kitten, and to protect her I placed her in a dresser drawer. where she snuggled up in my shirts. I walked over to the door and opened it, It was a very tall man. "Get dressed!!" He ordered, okay I replied a little frightened. I closed the door, and got dressed. I let Mella out of her drawer, but left it open so if she wanted to sleep in it she could. I plugged the sink up just enough to last her all day. I got dressed in some track shorts, and a light blue t-shirt. I pulled my hair back into a white bandanna, and opened the door. "Now gather three pairs of clothes." The tall man ordered me again. You know, he is really getting on my nerves. I went back in and then stopped, and opened the door again. What is all of this for I asked. "This is for the battle, you will win and come back. Or you will die and never return." He said blankly. Oh was all I could mutter, I went back into the room and grabbed only two pairs of clothes. Because I couldn't leave Mella behind. I placed her in the sack, and then took a bottle of shampoo and emptied it down the sink. I rinsed it out until I could drink from it. I filled it up with water, and placed it next to Mella. I opened the door, and was grabbed by the arm, roughly I might add. Let me go, I can walk myself you know. He let go, and I followed him. We walked into a part of the building I have never been in before. We walked down a flight of stairs, to what I assume is the basement. There are two medium sized trucks, one has ten girls in it, and the other nine. I was lifted into the truck, and the doors were closed. It got really dark and then the truck started. I held the bag lightly but tight enough so that Mella had some comfort. We drove for about an hour and then we can to a sudden stop. All the girls crashed into each other as we flew to one side of the truck. The door was flung open, and the truck was filled with light. I grabbed my bag, and Mella. I stepped out of the truck and saw a huge city. One of the biggest I have ever seen, I looked over to see Sadie and Clarissa stepping out of the other truck. We were ordered to line up, and we were all given, a bottle of water. Then we each got five minuets to find a place. Clarissa, Sadie and Me went looking for apartments. I was living in the city for weeks before I was taken to The Direction Games. I realized that Mella was still in the bag, and I took her out. I put her in my sweatshirt pocket. Her little head was poking out, "What the HELL is that?!!!" Sadie yelled. It's a kitten, what does it look like? I said getting defencive. "That thing is going to slow us down!!" Sadie said now just mad. Well it would be inhuman to let it go. It could get bitten, or starve to death and I have kind of claimed it as my own. "What's it's name?" Clarissa said finally speaking up. HER name is Mella. I say cradling her, she isn't hard to care for. All she needs is a small amount of water, and some cat food. Which I don't think people were stocking up, in case of the end of the world. "Whatever, if it gets in my way, I will cook it." Sadie said walking away. We finally found some apartments, and we smashed the door with a rock. Because it was made of glass, we found a soda machine and broke into it. There were six sodas left, for some reason this place was familiar to me. I tried to think back to before the end, it only brought painful memories of my family. My Mom, Dad, my Sisters, and my... Wait that is right. This was my Grandma's apartment building. I used to live here, I left after... I stopped myself from thinking about the horrible memory. "ABBI!!!!!!!!!" Clarissa and Sadie yelled trying to get my attention. Yeah, I asked coming back to reality. "Do you have any idea where we are?" Sadie asked. Yes, we are in Waukesha WI. I used to live here. This was my grandmothers apartment building. It is probably locked, but I know where we can get some keys.

A/N~ Okay, so this is the second chapter. Hope you like it! What do you think about the cat? Abbi is back in her home town, is it just a coincidence or is it fate.
