It took almost an hour to get to their house, what with the long roads. And mainly the fact that they didnt want to drive too fast considering they had three precious babies in the vehicle. Yeah, they had to ditch their car after Althea bled all over it. So for the time being, they used their son's car.
Althea sat in the back with the babies on either side of her. Well, Eros and Mavros were in the car seats beside her and she held Thalia since they couldn't put three car seats. She stared at her sleeping baby girl with so much wonder and love.
It felt insane to be able to look down at another human and say you created that. She is a mother. She almost teared up at the thought. That through everything she went through the past year, she made it. She's safe, her kids are alive and safe.
Yet her heart felt heavy. There was an emptiness she couldn't deny was there. It felt like half of her heart was dead almost. She couldn't decide whether it was because she's mateless, family-less or because she just went through some crazy shit. She didn't know, so she went with all of the above.
I mean how was she supposed to react after everything that just happened. All she knew is that she wasn't the same, she didnt feel as alive as she did before. Instead she felt great grief, yet joy because of her children. She felt that she only fought hard because and for her children. And now she lives only for them.
Because if you were to ask her what she wanted to do, it was to shove a stake through her heart and end it all. But she couldn't do that anymore. They needed her.
She couldn't help but look out the window as she suddenly started to understand her mother even more. The desire for death. But desire to live, yet it wasn't for you. You breathe and you live for a life that wasn't your own.
She chuckled as it all started to click. Her mother wasn't just sick, she was a tired and utterly fatigued woman. Plagued and haunted by more memories than a human brain could handle.
She was snapped out of it when Mary turned around to look at her, "Everything okay?". Althea smiled but nodded, "Everything is more than okay".
Mary smiled, "I cant wait for you to meet our son Vincent". "He was so worried once we told him what happened. Wanted to finally meet you."
Althea couldn't help but smile and nod, even though deep inside she couldn't care any less. She just wanted to feed and sleep. She'd decided that until her body felt 100%, she would feed on the Macky family. She would compel them if they noticed anything strange, like the fact that she would have to feed her babies blood instead of milk.
