"Ahhhhh!" I threw the blanket off of me. I couldn't catch my breath. My bed was completely soaked with sweat. After 10 years the nightmares still came. And only got worse over time. I was shaking and starting to get cold. After a couple of minutes my breathing became normal and I wasn't shaking so hard, I got up and walked to the bathroom. The light was really bright making me squint. The tile floor was cold under my feet. I was tired but was afraid to go back to sleep so I took a shower instead. The hot water relaxed my tense muscles. It felt good. It felt like a short time I was in there but the sky said different. The sun was starting to come up. The sky was beautiful at this time of morning. It always reminded me of when my mom was alive. She would go out early every morning with her coffee and sketch pad and draw the sky. My eyes started to sting. That was only a memory now. I walked away from the window. It was 6:15 outside was starting to get noisy. There was a small knock at the door.

"Can I come in?" I smiled it was Lily. Her head poked into my room. Her hair was pulled back nicely in a braid making her dark grey eyes show even more. Man was she beautiful. She walked over to my bed and plopped down letting out a sigh. She gave me a sad smile.

"You were yelling in your sleep again. I thought you said your nightmares were gone." I looked down at my feet ashamed for lying to her. She stood up and walked over to me. I looked up at her. Her eyes were showing compassion but she looked tired.

"I'm sorry I kept you awake. I thought they were done but I guess not." Another lie. It killed me that I had to lie to her to keep her from worrying about me. She smiled then gave me a small kiss on the cheek.

"Okay, I believe you. And you didn't keep me awake, I couldn't sleep with all the stuff that is going on." She looked pass me out the window. What was she talking about? Was this about us?

"What are you talking about? What's going on?" Lily looked up at me her eyes tearing up.

"Hannah is missing." With that she got up and walked out of my room and closed the door behind her. Her words floated in the air. The room started to spin and my chest felt heavy. Hannah is missing. Those three words pounded in my head. I sat down on my bed and closed my eyes. How come no one told me that she was missing? Why am I just hearing about this? My phone started to ring making me jump.

"Hello?"

"Chris, its me Luke! What are you doing today?" I looked out the window watching Lily get into her car. My heart sank a little.

"I don't know Luke why?"

"I was wondering if you wanted to come down to the track and watch the race today?"

"I don't know Luke. Haven't you heard?" There was a moment of silence. He knew.

"I'm sorry but you shouldn't dwell in that. The police will find her and she will be fine I'm sure of it." I didn't know what to say to that. Luke let out a frustrated sigh. "Okay well I'll let you go then if you need anything just call me. Okay?"

"Okay. I'll talk to you later than." Without saying bye I hung up. So far this day was turning out to be terrible.
