CHAPTER 31: WANDAVICTOR
PART 3As the next three days turned into a routine, Wanda and Victor's bond deepened. Although Victor still kept his secrets. Victor was occasionally communicating with her father, Erik (Magneto) in secret, whom she still thought missing for weeks now. Erik, on the other hand, became more and more suspicious at Victor's plans. Victor was there with Wanda every morning, every evening, and every night, always in her company. He was with her more than anyone else had ever been, except for Vision. They were inseparable, sharing meals, conversations, and fleeting moments of quiet understanding. He became her constant, someone she didn't realize she had come to rely on so deeply. They gardened together, laughed over board games, and even sat in silence, watching the changing light of day melt into night.
In the midst of Wanda's growing closeness with Victor, strange occurrences began to slip into the rhythm of their days. It started small, a book Wanda had been reading went missing. The kitchen knife seemed to vanish. Wanda began to suspect something strange going on, and wondered if it was just her experiencing this or if everyone else did too.
Day 3
Four days before the next TrialThese last three days became sort of a bliss for Wanda. She momentarily forgot the reality of her situation. Victor kept keeping her busy with things to distract her from everything. But every now and then, she would wake up from this false sense of comfort, and she would start to panic. Every few hours getting worse.
In these moments Victor truly realized just how much she endured in the raft, and that he would never truly understand the depths that the torment took on her emotional and spiritual wellbeing. Worst of all was that the raft was just ONE of the many things that plagued her soul. At night she would get fits of convulsions (almost like seizures) where Victor had to wake her up and turn her on her side.
He would then ground her back to reality after the fits of panic. Her dreams are always the same. Switching between losing everyone she loves, to being put on a stake in front of millions chanting "Burn!", to reuniting with her children again only to see them be ripped from her arms and taken away, to dreams of Chthon haunting her, to dreams of Victor betraying her, and worst of them all, dreams of her torment and degrading experience in the raft but this time in public while millions laugh and mock her.
