Y/n POV~
I've been following Silco around, acting like a lost puppy, for the past few days. I can't let him see through my mask so I've been really playing the part. If he finds out I'm not loyal to him, he may hurt Powder or myself. Ever since that night, I haven't let Powder out of my sight. She's been really shaken up mentally. Me too I guess, but I just try and forget. I can't even really remember the details. I guess it was too traumatic. I flipped a switch, and I don't feel anymore. I only protect. I need to protect Powder and Ekko.Silco had brought us back to the Last Drop. Him and his goons totally trashed it, and they're renovating it to look like a trashy night club. I tried sneaking away a couple of times to try and find Ekko, but Sevika caught me everytime. She knows I would never betray Vander. Whether he was dead or alive. For some odd reason, she hasn't told Silco where my loyalties lie. Even though Sevika has caught me attempting to escape, she won't catch me this time. I'm also practically defenseless because my daggers melted in the fire so it's not like I can fight my way out of this prison. O and surprise! I don't have a left leg. Well, a flesh one. I have a bionic one, and it's pretty sick. However, I'm still not used to it so I've been limping everywhere. I'm not worried about me lacking in the ass kicking department though, because I planned a great escape. I'll bring Powder with me, and we'll go find Ekko. We'll find somewhere safe to live. It'll be our sanctuary.
My plan is to have Powder ask Silco to go into the Lanes because she needs some parts for a new bomb. I've been going everywhere with her, but not this time. This time I'll stay behind and pack supplies. Sevika will be in the Lanes watching Powder so I won't have eyes on me anymore. I'll sneak out through the fire escape, and I'll carefully walk across rooftops and high lines until I spot Powder. I'll give her the signal which will probably just be a short whistle, and she'll bolt into a nearby alleyway. I'll help her scale up a building, and we'll take off. Sevika being left in the dust.
I'm currently in the basement of the Last Drop drawing out my amazing escape plan on a poster board with Powder's crayons. All of the sudden, I hear a knock on the basement door. My heart skips a beat. "Come in," I say hopefully. My face drops when Powder enters the room.
Every knock on a door, every laugh I overhear, every punch I see, it reminds me of her. I don't know why I'm so hopeful that'll she'll just drop back in on our lives one day. She didn't really love me. She left me. Vi promised me she would never leave me. She forgot me.
"Watcha doin?" Powder says hopping over to me.
"Working on getting us the fuck out of this twisted place," I answer still drawing.
"Why would you wanna leave?"
"Ummm... are you serious, Powder?" She twitches at the sound of her own name. "Silco is a murderous, monster who needs to be stopped, and we can't stop him if we're living with him. Plus, we need to find Ekko," I tell Powder.
"Oh, you don't need to worry about Ekko."
"What- what do you mean?" I ask curiously.
"I went back to the cannery today, and I say Mylo and Claggor. Poor souls," she says coldly. Her demeanor sends a shrill chill up my spine. I start to quietly sob at the memory of my deceased brothers.
Powder continues her story, and she dismisses my emotions. "Anyways, I felt someone following me from behind, but I didn't turn around until I was surrounded by nothing but rubble and ash. I turn around to find Ekko staring right back at me," she says lifting her hands up in annoyance. "I was like 'yo Ekko! Why you following me?' And he was all like 'I'm here to help you, and where's Y/n?'" Powder says, reenacting their whole conversation. I get hopeful hearing that Ekko is alive and well.
