Y/n POV~
Ekko and I stayed up all night trying to brain storm a game plan for getting the gemstone back from Jinx. While we were throwing back and forth different ideas, I reminded him that Jinx is still our family. That meant no brute force. I offered to go and talk to her myself, but he didn't like that idea because of her "erratic and unpredictable behavior". To most people, Jinx is chaos, but I grew up with her. I can predict her every move. The only move I couldn't predict was when she pulled that insane stunt with using real bombs instead of glitter bombs during our heist. However, I realized she murdered enforcers. I realized that if I were in her shoes, I would've done the same. I told Ekko about the heist, but I left Jinx's workshop location a secret. I also didn't tell him I was in the same vicinity as Silco because if I did he would've really blown a fuse. To be quite honest, I'm surprised I didn't kill him.
The best plan that Ekko and I had cooked up was the good ol' sneak attack. It's simple, efficient, and quiet. We'll also divide and conquer. I'll keep an eye on the last drop and Sevika, and Ekko will keep his eye on Jinx and Silco. Sevika will be wherever the action is so if Jinx were to give Silco the gemstone, my instincts tell me he would've left it in Sevika's care. I'm the stealthiest person in the under city so I would be going on my mission alone. However, I convinced Ekko to take a task force with him because Jinx will open fire on them if their position is compromised.
We're still in my room discussing logistics when I hear a knock on my door. "Busy," I say curtly. "Hawk, it's Scar. There's a new lead on the Vi case, and I think you should follow up on it. It seems legit," he says, the door muffling his deep voice. I look up to the door, and I advance towards it before Ekko grabs onto my hand. "Y/n, you told me you stopped," he says with a pitiful expression. "If it were Jinx missing would you stop?" I ask with an upside down smile. He sighs and lets go of my hand. "I think we've discussed the mission enough to remember our rendezvous point and plan B in case of conflict," I say turning my back to him, and out the front door. Scar was leaning against my hut, and when I cleared my throat he straightened up. I love people respecting me like this. As a leader.
"What's this legit lead?" I ask curiously.
"Female, 23 years of age, pink hair, blue eyes, 5'9, and she was last seen eating at Jericho's with a tall woman with midnight, blue hair," he said, recalling the information well. My heart skipped at beat when he mentioned Jericho's. That was our favorite place to eat. We'd always promise Jericho that "we'll pay this time" but we always left without paying, running away and giggling. My heart sank when I realized he said pink haired woman was with another girl. If this really was Vi, had she been with another partner this whole time? For six years? I shake the thought away. I need to see this for myself, but it'll have to wait because I have a more important mission tonight. Case the last drop and watch Sevika.
"Thank you, Scar. You'll be joining Ekko as head of his task force for this upcoming mission. Don't let me down," I say with a smile. "Thank you, Hawk. I won't," he says with pride.
I get to the last drop at around 5 pm and it smells of sweat and petty crime. This place used to be my home. It was a place for people to let go and drink with friends, and it was a place for everyone. Now, it's full of gamblers and creeps. I ordered a drink at the bar, but not alcohol. Can't drink on the job sadly. I ordered my favorite orange soda vander served powder and I when we were kids. Jinx and I, I mean. Sevika hasn't shown up yet so I wasted the evening away by playing darts, and playing some pool with a couple of douchebags. The toxic masculinity was suffocating me so I raised the stakes of the pool game. If I win, they had to streak around the lanes, but if they won I had to do a strip tease on the pool table. I wasn't interested. "Ladies first," the fat fuck sneered. "Get ready to let your tiny dicks flow free," I say with a shit eating grin. Naturally, I got all my balls in a pocket on my first turn. I wasn't shooting well in the games before because I just wanted the game to go on longer, but there's no way I was taking the risk of stripping for these sad fuckers. The whole bar started screaming and hollering, and these two huge, butch woman put me on their shoulders. While I was being paraded around the last drop, someone handed me a big jug of beer. I started to chant, "TAKE IT OFF! TAKE IT OFF!" Everyone joined in on my chant, and beer was flying everywhere. The pool players' faces turned bright red as they started unbuckling their pants. The whole bar erupted into a fit of laughter, and it reminded me of home. The old lanes. Before anyone could get a good glimpse at the men, they took off sprinting for the exit doors. I could still tell I had a bigger dick than them.
After a while, things started to settle down, and I had a couple of beers. I know what I said about no drinking on the job, but I was being nostalgic. For old times sake. Once I was three beers in, Sevika came waltzing down the attic stairs. That's where Silco's office is. She walked right past me, and she sat her ass on a worn, second-hand couch. She didn't recognize me because she hasn't seen me since I ran away. However, I'd bet money that she'd realize it was me if I whipped my daggers out and waved them in her face. That traitor deserves a dagger to the eye. I kept my eyes on her for the rest of the night. Watching her every move and listening to every conversation. At one point, she caught me staring, but I played it off in the most believable way possible. I winked at her. If I flirted from afar then she'd think I was just lustful and not trying to gain intel. However, it started working a little too well when she started making a bee line to the bar stool right next to me. I quickly realized what she was trying to do, and I run to the bathroom. I lock myself in a stall for a good forty five minutes. By now, I figured, Sevika found a new play toy or someone to con so I'm safe for now. I leave the bathroom, walking in a slanted line. I guess the jugs of beer are catching up to me. I take my original seat at the bar, and I look around for my target. I spot her sitting on the beaten couch she had sitting on before. She was sitting across from several sketchy men who were dealing out cards. When Sevika receives her hand she smirks, raises, and lights a shimmer cigar. She scoffs, "rotten luck, boys." She flips over her cards onto the wooden table that's in between the players, and her opponents explode with anger.
This is my chance to corner her. With the other players leaving and the bar growing busier it was the perfect opportunity to question her alone but still in a public setting. I down the rest of my drink, I flash the bartender my million dollar smile, and I turn around to—- to find sevika getting a knee to the face? Who's stupid enough to pick a fight with Sevika at the last drop? Where all her goons and bitches are? Must be an outsider. Everyone is screaming and flooding towards the exit so I don't get a good look at the attacker. I put my stealth and scaling skills to use, and I jump onto the bar, and I pull myself up onto the rafters. I cat walk down a skinny beam, and I squat down in a frog like stance. I watch Sevika fight this person, but she's not doing so hot. It's a woman? The first thing that i notice about this mysterious woman is her pink hair. This must be the mystery woman Scar was talking about. She's fucking smoking. I can't see her face though because Sevika is holding this woman's arms together with her shimmer pumped arm. Eventually, she swings her around, and I see her face. The same face I fell in love with years ago. The same eyes I still dream about. The same eyes that resemble the pale moon. "Peach." I breathe out. I don't say it loud, but I can tell Vi senses my presence. Even as kids, I could never hide from her. She looks up at the ceiling, and she spots me in my hiding place. Her eyes widen in shock. "I see you never learned patience," Sevika hisses in her face. Vi's in pain. It's written all over her face. It's a shame she's about to have physical pain written on her face too. Sevika head butts vi, and Vi throws her head back. I jump down from the ceiling, and I scream with all my lungs. I've waited years for this. I land on vi's shoulders, and I pull her hair. Her big hands grab onto my thighs as she tries to flip me backwards off of her. I flip out my daggers, and I hold one up to her throat. She puts her hands up in surrender. I look up just in time to see Sevika charging towards us. She jabs Vi in the stomach, and Vi gives it back to her. I put one dagger in my mouth, and I tucked away the other. I press my hands on Vi's shoulders, and I push myself up. I place my feet on her shoulders, and I jump off of her, landing on sevika's chest. "Hawk?" She asks in surprise. I put my knee onto her chest, and I trace my dagger lightly across her eyebrows. "What gave it away? Huh? Was it the daggers?"
"Y/n?"
"Long time no see, Peach."
