Chapter 10

PERTH

"Let's hope we win" said Wan to Santa as he lightly slapped his arm. I am a 100% sure he likes him.
Ugh.
"Oh don't worry,we will be fine" said Santa to Wan.
Santa then comes to me and says "I am going now na, take care of yourself."
I nod a yes and say "I will, good luck for your competition"
He then goes to Wan and they together go sit in the bus.
That's when I feel a hand on my shoulder.
It's Book.
"Come on let's go, we have our class" he says.
"Yes go on I am coming" I reply.

SANTA

"What do you think our theme will be?" asks Wan.
"I don't know it will be something good at least." I reply.
Wan : Let's hope we win one of the positions.
Santa : Oh don't worry, we will. We practised a lot after all.
Wan : Oh yes.
Santa : Will Lucy come to meet you today?
Wan : Yes, she will. She will meet me after the competition. I will also introduce you to her.
Santa : Okay.

After an hour later both of us are here sitting in front of each other.The topic that the judge announced is fantasy.
"We we will give each pair two medium size canvas. You will start painting when the bell rings and after every 15 minutes you must exchange your canvas and continue on the one you got. You will get a total of one and a half hour to complete your painting"
Said the judge.
The rules are pretty simple to understand and I guess both of us can manage.
Me and Wan sit infront of each other.
The Canvas are then handed over to us and we start painting.
It goes pretty well.

"Okay everyone the time is over please hand over the canvas back for the judges to review them. First,second and third position will be selected. Good luck to all" said the judge.
I guess me and Wan did it nicely. We both we both gave our best, let's hope the results are best too.
A few minutes later the judges announce "We are ready with our decision. The third position is scored by duo number 7."
With that being said everyone starts clapping. Me and Wan are in duo 13, let's hope we win too.
The judge continues "The second position has been won by duo number 13."
OMG REALLYYYYY.
Everyone starts clapping as me and Wan pass each other a smile.
"The first position has been won by duo number 2" says the judge.
Everyone claps again.
We six winners stand up and go forward for the trophy.
They click pictures of us with the judges and then we come back.
I will tell Perth about this yayy.

PERTH

I wonder how his competition is going.
Will he win?
I don't know I do want him to win.
As I keep fidgeting with my pen the door opens.
It's Santa.
And Wan ofcourse.
'May we enter ma'am?' he asks.
The teacher nods a yes and they take their seat.

After the last bell rings everyone walks out of the class.
I take my phone out and start checking the notifications.
That's when I hear a voice from behind shout my name.
I look back to find Santa who is coming running towards me with a trophy in his hand.
'Perth! I got second position!' he says.
I place my hand on his head and pat it lightly.
'Congratulations! You did great' I say.
Santa : Thank you so much! By the way today evening you will be there, right?
Perth : There? Where? Where do I have to go?
Santa : My house ofcourse. For the tutoring session.
Perth : Oh yes I remember now.
Santa : You will be there, right?
Perth : Oh yeah ofcourse, I will.

That's when Book and Dunk come my way.
Dunk : Santa? Nice to see you here. You won something?
Santa : Yes, I got second position.
Book : Congratulations na.
Dunk : Yeah, congratulations from my side too.
Santa : Khob khun na khap!
Perth : Dunk and Book. Where is Pond?
Book : Oh Pond. He said he has plans with his family.
Perth : Plans? Okay.
Santa : Well I should get going now. Phi'Aou must be there. Bye!
Book : Bye!
Perth : Bye! See you later.

AOU

-An hour earlier-

I get into the cafeteria and find Film, View, Louis and Gun there.
So I too have a seat with them.
Aou : Hi you all! Where is Boom?
View : He didn't tell you? He is sick.
Aou : What happened to him?
Film : Cold and cough. You should go see him.
Aou : Well my classes are over so I should go see him. Anyone coming with me?
Louis : Nope.
Gun : Nah.
View : Not me either.
Film : I will come with you, I am free.
Aou : Okay. Let's go.

We reach his house and I press the bell button.
Boom's mother opens the door.
Aou : Sawadee khap mother. Where is Boom?
Boom's mother : Sawadee kha Aou. Sawadee kha Film.
Film : Sawadee kha mother. Is he home?
Boom's mother : Oh yes yes, he is home. He is sick.
Film : Yes. He told us about it.
Boom's mother : Why don't you both come in?

Me and Film enter the house and go towards Boom's room.
I open the door to find Boom sleeping.
And a cotton cloth on his head.
Aou : You said he has cold and cough. Since when did he get fever also?
Film : I don't know. Remove the cloth and touch his forehead. Is it hot? Does he have fever right now?

As I do that I answer Film 'Nope. Not at all. It's fine.'
That's when Boom wakes up.
Boom : Aou? Film? What are you doing here?
Aou : We came to see you. How are you feeling right now?
Film : Are you okay now?
Boom : I am better but not completely fine. I still have cough.
Aou : Why did you not tell me about it?
Boom : I did not want you to worry.
Film : Come on Boom! We are your friends!
Boom : Yeah yeah sorry.
Film : Well do you want something? I am free full day and can take care of you.
Boom : Can you please switch the television on?
Film : Yes sure.
Boom : It is nearly time. Shouldn't you go and pick Santa from school?
Aou : He will be fine without me for some time. Taking care of you is more important, you are sick.
Boom : Come on I have film to take care of me right now. You should go to him.
Film : Yes Aou. Go to your brother.
Aou : Are you sure?
Film : Yes! I am here with him, don't worry.
Aou : Okay. Then I am going. Call me if you need something.
Boom : Okay okay. Bye!
Aou : Bye! Take care Boom.

SANTA

When will Perth be here?
It is 10 minutes past 6 and he is still not here.
That's when the bell rings.
It's probably Perth
I am not getting up.
Mother or phi'Aou can open the door.
A few minutes later I hear someone climbing the stairs and that's when Perth enters the room.
'You're late' I say.
'So sorry for that!' he replies.
Santa : Yeah yeah I won't say anything to you. Come have a seat.
Perth : What will you teach me today? I bought english, maths, spanish, history-
Santa : I want to talk to you first.
Perth : Talk to me? About what?

I take his hand in mine and answer 'Wan.'
I notice his face twitch but he tries to hide that.
Perth : What about him?
Santa : You're jealous, right?
Perth : What? Why will I be jealous? I-
Santa : Don't lie Perth. Your group told me that you are.
Perth : Uhhh.
Santa : Why are you making that face? I am not scolding you or anything! Just tell me why are you jealous? And dare you lie!
Perth : I don't like it.
Santa : You don't like what?
Perth : I don't like it when you smile to him the way you smile to me. I don't like why he keeps roaming around you. I don't like it why is he trying to snatch you from me-
Santa : He has a girlfriend.
Perth : Wait. What?
Santa : Yes. Her name is Lucy.
Perth : Then why does he-

As he is about to continue, I take my lips forward and press them to his.
He opens his mouth in surprise but then he grabs my mouth and kisses me back.
I push him forward and then break the kiss to say 'That's my answer to every single one of your question.'
He keeps staring at me as I continue 'Don't worry Perth. He is just a friend. I am all yours. Okay?'
His jaw drops.
Santa : What are you so shocked for? Relax.
Perth : I... I uh you- you kissed me...!?
Santa : You want me to do it again?!
Perth : No, I am shy.
Santa : Okay okay!! Just stop being so insecure, okay? The only one I belong to is you.
Perth : I- uh...Stop making me shy! Shut up!

He hides his face as I tease him more.
