Chapter 24: First Date

"For the fifth time, could you please pass the god damn cheese!"

I watched amusedly as Colton and Sidney had a stare off. Colton was being rude and hogging up all the cheese to put on the tacos, and Sidney wanted some. I could tell her patience was running thin by the way her hand suddenly twitched. Colton grabbed a handful and popped it into his mouth. That was the last straw for her, and I watched shocked, as she literally lunged across that table and over onto Colton. Colton's chair flipped backwards, and they both went flying onto the floor, cheese scattering everywhere.

"You little f*ck tard! How hard was it to just pass the damn cheese!"

Colton was laughing his head off, and I just sat still in my chair, not really knowing what to do. Sidney clambered off of Colton, and he stood up, flicking cheese pieces off of his shirt.

"You better clean that up, hog monkey," Sidney spat at Colton.

"Did you seriously just use two different animals in one sentence as an insult?"

"Yeah, well, you sure act like an animal," Sidney muttered.

Colton's hearty laugh filled the room, and a smile broke out on my face. I loved hearing him laugh, it made me feel all giddy inside. The day after the god awful prank he pulled on us, we all stayed inside and relaxed, not really in the mood to do much. Hayden apologized over ten times about how sorry he was for pulling the prank on us, but since we had already calmed down about it, we just brushed it aside.

Sidney shoved the rest of her taco into her mouth and then stood up from the table, glaring at a smirking Colton.

"Come on, Clo. He isn't special enough to be in our presence right at this moment," she huffed.

I had already finished eating, and just shrugged my shoulders, standing up and following her upstairs. I plopped on top of my bed while she rummaged under the bed. I scrunched my eyebrows, confused at what she was doing. A second later, she pulled out a plastic bag full of candy, grinning wickedly at me.

"Yeah, baby! Come to mama."

She dug through the bag and pulled out a full bar of Snickers, pulling the wrapper back and automatically shoving the whole bar into her mouth. My eyes widened twice their size as I saw her struggling to chew it up.

"What the heck, Sidney! You're so going to choke and die. How would you like to say you died eating a Snickers bar, huh?"

She smiled at me, showing off her chocolate teeth, her mouth way too full to even mumble a word. Suddenly, my bedroom door opened, and in walked Blake. He ruffled a hand through his hair and strode casually in. I looked over at Sidney, whose face turned completely red.

"Hey, girls."

"Hey," I replied.

Sidney attempted to mumble a response back, and he looked at her with amusement clear in his eyes.

"So Sidney, I have a question for you."

Sidney was trying to rapidly chew the rest of the candy bar, nodding her head for him to continue.

"How would you like to join me at the Fair this fine evening?"

Blake's cheeks tinged slightly pink, and my eyebrows shot up. It was very rare to see a Stroud brother blush. Sidney had chocolate all over her face and her lips, but she finally managed to get the candy bar down her throat.

"Blake Stroud, are you asking me out on a date?"

Sidney smiled, and I snickered at the fact that she had chocolate everywhere in her teeth and she didn't even know it.
