Chapter 7: A Date?
It's been about a week and a half since I've departed from California and came back to Florida. The rest of my visit in Cali went well, and before I knew it, I was already handing my boarding pass over to the airport check in, and boarding my plane. Currently, it is eight o'clock in the morning and I am prepping for my first class. Shoving my books into my backpack, I flung the strap over my shoulder and speed walked out of my dorm room.
I'm not exactly always late, but when I am, I try not to be extra late, if you know what I mean. Rushing into my History class, I tried to very quietly close the door behind me and sneak past my professor, but I wasn't sneaky enough. Right as I reached an open desk in the back, he spoke.
"Good morning Ms. Tatum, glad you decided to join us, late, as per usual."
Almost all heads in the big room swiveled around to face me, making me want to crawl into a hole and disappear. Deciding to just stay positive, I replied
"Morning to you too, Sir."
He gave a nod of his head, then continued on with the lesson. I practically fell asleep, it was that boring. I am definitely not a History lover, in fact, I hate learning history. It completely bores me. Finally, class was over, and we were dismissed. I was the last one out of the room, but I only took about two steps out of the door when my elbow was grabbed onto. For half a second I had a panic attack, until I realized it was only Kale, so I relaxed. He smiled down at me with bright white, straight teeth. He was a bit shorter than Colton but still very much taller than me. His brown eyes were a rich chocolatey brown and they were warm and inviting.
"You're going with me somewhere."
"I am?"
My eyebrows raised up in curiosity at his statement. I'm normally just used to hearing Colton demand things toward me.
"Yep you are, now let's go, it'll be fun, trust me."
Shrugging my shoulders, I just followed him, his hand still gripping onto my elbow, sending teeny tiny shocks up and down my arm. He led us to the cars parking lot.
"You have your car here? How?"
At my college, you can't be a freshman with a car, it's just a rule. Only sophomores and up can have their car, or that's what I had thought.
"I entered into the parking raffle that they have for freshman and I won the parking spot, don't know how though, because I never win raffles."
"Oh, I didn't know they had that here."
We walked up to a dark green pick up truck and he ran around to the passengers side and opened the door for me, making me smile. Kale is very gentlemen like. He hopped into the drivers seat and began driving. With one hand on the steering wheel and one arm hanging out the window, he glanced over at me and said
"I figured it's time for the bowling game we had planned a while back, what do you say?"
"That sounds like a good plan" I smiled sweetly at him, then he shifted his eyes back to the road.
Ten minutes later, we arrived at a bowling ball arena. He opened the passenger side door for me and the bowling alleys door. When we approached the desk, I turned to him and said
"I'm sorry, I don't have my wallet with me. I can pay you back when we get back to the college."
Swinging his arm casually around my shoulders, he replied
"What? No! I brought you here, I'll pay for you. What kind of gentleman would I be if I brought a girl out and didn't pay?"
"Ok, ok. Thank you" I giggled out loud, then blushed when he made a silly face at me. It wasn't always like this with Colton. I mean, he would make me giggle, but the majority of the time I would just roll my eyes at his smart comments to me. He did make me blush, that's for sure though. Stepping up to the desk, Kale pulled his wallet out.
