Jax

I kissed Lily Mae! I kissed Lily Mae. Even I can't believe how sweet her lips tasted nor how her heart was beating. It's been a long time since I've felt anything like those precious lips on mine. I'm in shock that Lily Mae let me get so close to her. Then the damn sherif had to come on knocking at the window. Jeez we weren't doing anything wrong other than a mild kiss.

Although, it could have heated up real quick because being so close to Lily Mae is a trigger. She needs to come with a health warning, do not touch otherwise you will explode in two minutes flat. It's no lie my dick was raring to go, it has only just got itself in check. Thank goodness since we are in the café. I am telling you, however, my heart is still beating wildly for this beauty sitting opposite me.

"Do you remember when we were last in here together?" She asks as she takes a sip of her drink. Of course I do how could I forget?

"You were sipping so hard on your darn straw, Lily Mae, my mind was visualizing all sorts of things. I swear my dick was ramrod hard for you that morning."

She sighs, "your dick is always ramrod hard, Jax. I'm surprised you haven't been sleeping around more since I have been gone. Rumor has it that you're the most eligible bachelor in Whispering Pines. So, how come you haven't dated more?" I wish I was that china with her lips on it. That kiss ended way too quick for my liking.

I shrug my shoulders and spread my arms along the back of the sofa seating where Lily Mae chose for us to seat with our drinks. I catch her glancing at my hands. She always did have a thing for my hands, something about the veins popping. Strange but hell who am I who to argue with what she likes. Lily Mae licks her bottom lip, her tongue so perfect and pink I could just suck it right into my mouth and taste her latte.

"I am not the most eligible bachelor in Whispering Pines. Good Lordy, there are plenty of men more eligible than me. Take your brothers for example, they are both plenty eligible for that title and have a fortune sitting under their belts being sons of the Eagle Ranch owner."

She almost spurts out her coffee. "Are you kidding me? Wes? Hendricks? Wes ain't never gonna settle down. Well, he could if he and my bestie ever got it together. There is definitely a spark between those two. As for Hendricks, yeah maybe he is a good catch. But he's a ladies man. It's going to take a very special lady to stop my brother from playing the field. Anyway answer the question. You haven't exactly dated a lot since I've been gone."

What can I say? My heart has always belonged to her, she was – is the only girl for me. Besides, Lily Mae tore my heart in two, there was no way I was going to trust another female again.

I shrug, "I've been way too busy on your daddy's ranch for dating Sunset Sweetheart." I see her blush at my use of her nickname. I gave it to her when we were kids and it stuck. She is my sunset, the way her face lights up and radiates warmth. The glow that shines on her beautiful skin with those darn cute freckles. I could kiss everyone over and over again. My heart swells every time I see Lily Mae.

If only she knew how much she broke my heart. Or the fact that I'd stare at hours at my favorite photo of hers in my room on my bedside cabinet. It was taken on a summer's day, the way her hair glows in it like she is wearing a halo. Her stunning eyes bright and shining with happiness. Her tiny red and white polka dot bikini as we frolicked around the lake that lazy afternoon when high school finally ended. How we'd fooled around, made love in the water, the way it felt with my fingers fumbling around in her bikini bottoms. Oh, shit there goes my dick again. Damn it needs to be strapped down.

"Nobody is too busy to date, Jax." Her voice sounds jovially scornful. And now she is making those cute noises of appreciation of that damn latte she is drinking. My cock does not know whether it is coming or going, with her mms and aahs, the way she licks the froth off her top lip. Jeez I am in hell here right now, wanting to pull her towards me and kiss her breathless. Just listening to her is making me stir-batshit-crazy for her.

"Could you not make those noises please," okay so my voice was just a bit too gruff. She shoots up her eyebrows, those delectable eyes of hers open wide.

"What noises?"

"Those noises."

"I have no idea, Jax what you are talking about!" Like hell she doesn't. Lily Mae knows those are the same noises she has made when my cock was plunged balls deep inside her tight, wet pussy. The way she'd sigh as she was about to climax.

"Oh," she blushes. "Right, you mean those noises. Gott ya."

"Anyway enough about my dating. Have you dated anyone serious whilst you've been in the big ass city?"

She looks like she is thinking about it. "Nothing too serious. I have had some hilarious blind dates though that my girlfriends used to set me up with. To be honest, I didn't go back into the dating pool until I'd been there a few months. My heart wasn't in it."

The white elephant in the room – our split up. Well it wasn't so much a break up. I mean to be honest neither one of us broke off our relationship. Lily Mae asked me to go with her, I said I could never leave Whispering Pines and she said she had to go out there and try. Who the hell was I to hold her back on her big dreams. I had to let my girl fly.

I'm not sure who was more stubborn back then, her or me. In any case we drifted away from the daily chats until they became less and less. It was like my arm had been amputated, the girl of my dreams was no longer in my life. I was miserable as sin and drank way too much that was good for my liver. Good job her daddy had a good talking to me and that I had Ralph and Rose to take care of otherwise, God only knows how I'd have ended up.

We are saved by her brother Wes bowling in like he owns the joint. "Hey you two kids, together again I see." He sits down uninvited. She gives him a pointed look. The one that says we are in the middle of something. Wes being Wes just ignores his sister. "So, what's news? Say, are you two back together again?"

Now both I and Lily Mae blush, "what? No! We're just talking is all about the rodeo. " And it's that line again. Has she just forgotten our passionate embrace in my truck? I guess we're keeping that a little secret. I chuckle. Wes looks between his sister and I and narrows his eyes.

"So, why are you blushing Lils?"

"I am not blushing, it is warm in here." I scoff at her words, it is no way warm enough to cause those flaming cheeks she has going on.

"Anyway, I was thinking, it would be kinda neat if you two, you know got back together."

He and I think alike. Only now I am wondering if Lily Mae will let me kiss her again. Perhaps I need to ask her on a proper date. And I have just the place in mind.
