"In this final points round, competitors will try to knock their opponents off their platform. Once you have fallen, you're out. Points are determined by wins, losses and time. Final rankings after this event will determine placement in tonight's elimination round"

I rise and fall on the heels of my feet, standing in my black gi next to Tory with the rest of the Cobras as we listen to the announcer.

"We will now call up our first group of fighters. Devon Lee from Miyagi Do, platform two and Akira Kim from Cobra Kai, also on platform two"

I look over at Devon as she speaks to her sensei then I look back to see my mother and Kreese.

"Lee hasn't had as much training as you have, get her off that platform as soon as possible" my mother says.

"Also sensei LaRusso isn't here, so she doesn't have the backing up she needs from both of her sensei's" Kreese adds.

I nod and bow to them both.

"Show them who's boss, little lamb" Kwon nods and I nod back, seeing Tory grin in the side of my eyes.

I turn to the beam, standing on one end of it as Devon stands up on the other.

"You got this Lee, be aggressive" her sensei calls out as we jump back and forth on our feet.

I raise my fists as Devon does, she throws her foot up to kick me in the gut but I block it, doing the same with the punches that she throws at me.

I grab her arm and pull her towards me, punching her in the side hardly.

I hear her wince as we both lean backwards, nearly falling off the platform then she tries to throw another punch at me but I catch her wrist and push her backwards, sweeping her legs from out under her, causing her to fall awkwardly off the beam.

"Lee out. Time, 10 seconds"

The buzzer blares and Devon punches the mat in irritation and I hop off the beam, going back to my teammates.

"Nice one Akira" Tory smiles, us exchanging a high-five.

I steady my breath, the adrenaline still coursing through me even though it wasn't much of a fight.

"Thanks" I smile at her, turning to the mat as I watch some of my teammates in their matches.

Our team has come this far, I wasn't going to let us go home empty handed.

After a quick break it was time for the next event, which was the elimination phase.

"We have now entered the elimination phase of the Sekai Taikai. The dojo's who do not win tonight will be headed home. The previous rounds have determined your current rankings. The number one team will face the number sixteen team, the number two team will face the number fifteen team and so on"

I turn to the rest of my team.

"So, that means number three we are facing number fourteen, Polarslaget" I say.
