CHAPTER FOUR:

SAVED:

Alice stood by the door and watched officer David Donner, walk into the house, with his gun drawled. The swat team walked in side by side close together. Moore stood out, he stood beside Alice. His arms where crossed and his jaw was tense.  He was quieter then usual. They both knew what could happen, they both knew what they could face if they went in there. The house was silent, and dark. Alice saw flashing lights moving around inside the house.

There goes the bathroom. The bedroom.

Then the light finally reached the end, the light flickered off, and a bright yellow light shinned through the curtains. Alice was so in the zone she didn’t notice Moore walk off to his black sudan. Minutes passed, every counting second scared Alice more. When the door swung, she found her self running. Detective David Donner was holding Sarah in his arms and was smiling.

“She’s alright, just a little bit dehydrated.”

Alice grabbed Sarah from the mans arms, and began hugging and kissing her.

“I love you sweetie.” She whispered in Sarah’s ear the little girl giggled and whispered right back

“I love you too mommy.”

Detective Donner was still smiling. His hand on her head palm up.

“She’s got a fever.” He paused and looked at the paramedics standing by “She needs some water.”

Alice finally gave her up, she handed her to Donner, and Donner walked towards the parked vehicle.

She didn’t notice, that the other cops haven’t come out of the house yet. Alice looked around for Moore but he was no where to be found. She walked up to Donner that was still holding Sarah in his arms, he was holding a water bottle for Sarah.

“Hey.”

Donner looked over his shoulder.

“Yeah?”

“Where’s the rest of your team?”

He looked away real quick, and gave a nervous shake of his head.

As she was about to walk off towards the house Donner grabbed her arm, and said

“You don’t want to see it.”

“Don’t ever tell me what I want to see.  My-” She paused.

His eyes locked hard on hers.

She grabbed his hand and shoved it off of hers.

As soon as she started walking off she heard Donner talk in baby talk to Sarah.

She’s three years old you know? Your dibshit. She can’t understand that no more.

Alice was shivering, she still had Moore’s trench coat on.

She walked through the front door, the similar smell went straight up her nose, the same furniture, nothing looked different but the room seemed much darker and colder, not just because it was getting dark, and it was winter. She walked through the house in the dark, she tried switching the front room light, but nothing came on, she walked up the stairs, A light shined, when she reached the top of the stairs, she turned left where the light was coming from. A man stood with broad shoulders, in a suit, he was blocking her from seeing anything, his back was towards her. The light shined around him.

He turned his head slightly, then did she finally notice it was Moore.

“Moore.” She whispered
