Chapter Ten

The Hater of Humankind

"Alice, I know it was Kyle."  Moore said sitting down beside Alice on the curb, Sarah sat beside Alice.

"How do you? Proof please?"

Moore gave Alice a baffled look.  He sighed. He looked down at the ground, and his head shot up.

"That man."

"What man?"

"The man in the truck. The police officer said he dropped off a note for me, about Sarah."

Alice looked at Moore. "You never questioned him?'

"He left before we could?' Moore said and stood up. Alice didn't know why he stood up.

The medical examiner was walking towards Alice and Moore.

"Sir, we need to keep your phone."

The medical examiner cringed his eye brows. Then he shook his head, at Moore, and looked at Alice.

" That's not why i'm here, I was guessing you needed to keep my phone."

"Why would you guess that?"

"Well uh" He chuckled " Sterotypical, I guess?"

"How?" Moore asked

"That's very hard to explain."

"So why did you come back?" Alice asked.

He took a deep breath in, " Caylee."

"What about her?" Moore said and stepped closer to the medical examiner.

" She didn't die recently."

Moore crinkled his eye brows together. "What?" He paused

" She's been out there for a few hours, and has been dead much longer then that as well."

He put his finger up, "Yes. Yes she's been out here for a few hours at least 3 to 4 hours, but she hasn't been dead for 4 hours. Not even close."

"How long are you talking here?" Alice ask standing up.

He looked at Alice, and then at Moore. He raised his eye brows. He took a deep breath in.

" I am talking, nearly a week. 5 to 6 days."

"So your going to tell me this little girl has been gone for a whole week?" Moore stepped in front of the medical examiners face

" What did he do with her body for a week?"

The medical examiner stepped back. He looked at Alice.

"Do I really have to answer that?"

Moore's jaw was tense, he backed up, he was breathing deep. He shook his head. He really didn't need to answer that, they all knew what that man did with that little girl. There was a long silence.

"He kept her frozen. The melting from the snow made her bruises come out more then we would have seen before, and those came most likely a few minutes before her death."

Alice shook her head. She sat back down. Another long silence passed. They all turned there heads, the cell phone was sitting on the curb, and was ringing. Alice looked at it for a moment, and picked it up. And answered the phone.

"Hello?"  The sound of breathing threw the phone, made her know who it was.

"I give myself up."
