Alexio had been avoiding me like his life depended on it, and it was driving me insane. Every passing day without him felt like torture, and the worst part was how easily he seemed to manage without me. It hurts. I missed him. Surely, not talking to me for days had to affect him somehow, right? Or was it just me suffering in silence?
I thought about the last time I'd gone to his office to apologize—again—and found Ciara there. She was standing way too close for comfort, her presence like a thorn in my side. Now, Alexio wanted to send Nora and me to Italy. For our safety, he said. But deep down, a sickening thought gnawed at me: what if he just wanted more time with Ciara? She was gorgeous, after all. My stomach churned as my inner voice whispered cruel possibilities.
Argh! I grabbed my hair in frustration and stomped out of my room, desperate for a distraction. Maybe breakfast would help. as I reached the stairs, I froze at the sound of his voice, deep and commanding. He was talking to someone in the dining hall.
Panic hit me. I couldn't show up in my pajamas. I spun on my heels, darted back to my room, and quickly changed into a brown jumpsuit that hugged every curve a little too well. I stared at myself in the mirror for a beat, debating my choice, before deciding that if Alexio was going to ignore me, I'd make it difficult for him to look away.

With my head held high, I strode into the dining hall. The moment I walked in, I felt his eyes on me. They trailed down my figure, slow and deliberate, his eyes darkening and my heart raced like a drumbeat."Damn, Angel, you look so sexy," Alexa teased, her voice light and playful.
I let out a nervous laugh, heat rushing to my cheeks as every single person at the table turned to look at me. My pulse quickened when I spotted the empty chair right beside Alexio. For a split second, I considered sitting there. Maybe force him to acknowledge me.
But no. Instead, I walked past it, adding an extra sway to my hips as I moved. I could feel his eyes burning into me, and it sent a thrill through my body. Was it petty? Yes. But did I care? Not at all.
I slid into the chair between Nora and Alexa, barely managing to catch my breath. Just as I settled, Austin strolled in, his usual carefree smile lighting up the room. He plopped down beside Damon with a cheerful, "Hey there, ladies."
I offered him a small smile, trying to shake off the tension i was feeling.
Ciara walked in next, She took the seat beside Alexio without hesitation, leaning just a little too close to him for my liking.
Alexio, Leon, and Luca began conversing in rapid Italian, their voices low but intense. I couldn't understand a word, but whatever they were discussing felt important. Still, all I could focus on was the weight of Alexio's gaze whenever it landed on me and the burning jealousy that ignited every time Ciara brushed her hand a little too close to his, And the worst part was he allowed it.
This breakfast was going to be anything but peaceful.
Soon enough The table buzzed with light chatter, the clinking of cutlery against plates filling the air.
