Chapter Eighteen~
I take a deep breath in, getting a good whiff of cleaning chemicals. I instantly know where I am but I don't remember why. I open my eyes and sit up slowly. I'm in the pack hospital like I thought but no one is around. It seems deserted around here. Why is no one in the hospital?
There is a man beside me but he seems to be in critical condition. His heart monitor is beeping steadly, which is a good sign. I walk over to him as his eyes open. He grabs my hand and pulls me to him. His eyes are wide and his monitor is beeping a little faster. His eyes are so familiar, they kinda remind me of my own green ones.
"Find Chris." He wheezes out. The breathing mask mutes it some but I still caught it. "Chris? Chris who?" I ask him. He looks at me and smiles. "You." He says letting go of my hand and touching my face softly. The look in his eyes are full of pride and worry. He drops his hand and his eyes close. His body starts to violently shake.
I rush outside to find Garrett but no one else. "That man! He's shaking I don't-don't know what's wrong!" I shout. Garrett disappears and I run back in the room. Garrett and a doctor comes back and immediately start to help the guy. I stand over to the side with my arms crossed over my stomach with a sick acid feeling boiling up my throat. Garrett looks over at me then down at the man.
He walks over to me and leads me out of the room. "How did you sleep?" Garrett asks wrapping his arms around me and pulling me into a warm hug.
"I had the strangest dream that I was a Lycan and Niccone wanted me to be his Luna." I say with a chuckle. "You are a Lycan but the Niccone part has to be a dream." Garrett says as he leads me down the hallway. He take me into a dinner room and we set down.
A lady surves me some soup. She gives me a very friendly smile before she walks out. I eat my soup with not one word said between us for a good bit of time. "I'll be back. Stay here." Garrett says with a smile but I can tell that behind that smile he's wanting someone's head.
I just nod my head as he stalks out of the room with his hands balled into fists at his sides. I can only wonder what has gotten to him this time. Garrett is a very easy person to make angry. I finish my soup and sit here in complete silence. I wonder what got him worked up this time.
The woman comes back and takes the bowl away and doesn't come back. I drum my fingers against the table and hum. I'm so bored at this moment I could count my hair.
"Red."
I look around me at the sudden call. I'm still alone. "Little Red, come." An older voice says. I walk out of the room as several voices start repeating that one sentence over and over again. I go to the elevator and go to the roof.
"You're one of us now." The older voice says. I look off the edge of the house to find a big grey wolf watching me. "Come with me."
I take a step forward and hover one foot off the edge, with not one worry about my life. The voices encourage me to continue on my way. More wolves come up behind the grey wolf which all are bigger than usual. I see Hank training with other people but they don't notice the other wolves.
I take the last step off the building and land in a croutch. Hank jumps back in surprise but I keep walking to the grey wolf. "Chris, where are you going?" Hank asks grabbing my arm. I shrug it off and keep walking. "Hurry, Little Red." The voice says.
"Don't go to those wolves Chris!" Hank says grabbing my arm again. I grab his wrist and twist it around his back and push up. "Don't tell me what to do." I hiss at him. I release him and go to the grey wolf as anger just rolls off me. A copper brown wolf walks up to me and starts circles me.
I fall to the ground in pain. From the distance I hear Hank shouting orders around but a loud growl is echoed through the area. The copper wolf takes a defensive stance in front of me as my bones and muscles start to pop, break and move again. It is the same as last time and hurts just as bad.
This time I can almost pick out the worst parts of the breaking. I can feel my heart beat get faster and stronger. My smell picks up the woods and people around me. I can sence every person in a mile radius of me. One person stands out to me but I ignore it because at this moment that person means nothing to me. The copper wolf helps me up and then bows his head to me.
"You are one of us." The grey wolf says as he steps up beside me. I look up at Hank, who has a very shocked expression, and then walk off. We take off running through the woods. "You are a part of us Biloba." It's my grandfather. Biloba is Basque for granddaughter.
The copper wolf and a black and grey wolf walk up beside me. A sudden surge of pride goes through me. "Gabrial and Marshall, will return with you. They are your Beta and Gamma." My grandfather says walking around me. I barely nod my head to show that I understand him.
"Tell Niccone a war is coming and the only way to win is for him to let go of the silly hatred they hold and let us help him. If not we will go our separate ways and start your Alpha training." My grandfather says. I turn around and take off running as fast as I can. I leave Gabrial and Marshall in the dust.
I stop once I sense that person once again. I stick my nose in the air and take a deep breath in. I smell mostly woods so I take another deep breath. This time I catch the smell of a funnel cake and chocolate. I slowly follow the smell. Gabrial and Marshall catch up and then follow closely beside me.
The scent leads me to a small clearing in the forest. "She's charol grey and really fast." I hear Hank say. I look at the small group and take another good whiff of the air. My eyes snap to Niccone. At this moment everything seems to fall apart. Niccone looks around him but then his face falls. Gabrial nudges me away from them. He gives me some clothes and turns around.
"You need to shift back." Gabrail says once he has shifted back. Him and Marshall then coax me to shift. Once I do I put on the clothes and head back to the clearing. Alpha Zale looks over at as once we walk to them.
"Where were you!" Garrett shouts walking over to me. I send him a hard look. He looks at the two boys behind me and pales. I point at Niccone.
"You either help us and get over your hatred for our kind or we will leave so I can start on my training. A war is coming and I would love to help your pack but if you can't deal with mine I am leaving." I say walking to him. His eyes get wide.
"We wo-"
"No. This is Niccones choice according to my grandfather." I interrupt him. Niccone looks down.
"I can't trust Lycan kind with my pack. You I can but the pack is a no." Niccone says. I cross my arms and look back. "Which one of you is Gabrial?" I ask. The blonde steps forward with his head lowered. His eyes are a dark hazel color. I look at him and frown.
"You're the guy who gave me a ride home." I say and he smiles. "You're my Alpha. It's my job as your Beta." Gabrial says. I see Hank size him up as the word Beta leaves his lips. I motion him to come forward. "Okay so you are Marshall. Okay. Marshall come here." I whisper to Marshall to find Niccones mom. He takes off running.
"What did Lyans do to you?" I ask Niccone. He crosses his arms over his chest. "My sister." He says looking at his dad.
"They killed her." Alpha Zale finishes. Gabrial steps up. "Dianna is not dead." Gabrail hisses.
"We fou-"
"She was escaping you just like your mate is trying to do." Gabrail says lowly. Niccones face falls and he looks back at his dad. His dad looks just as shocked as the rest of us. "You know who she is don't you?" Niccone growls. Gabrail just smiles.
"Of course. I've know Dianna but hear this. You argee to our terms we'll let you see Dianna. Believe me when I say this, she's proud of who you are changing into but is disappointed that you don't open your eyes to what's in front of you." Gabrial says.
"Nico, do it. Don't let your selfishness cloud your mind on this." Alpha Zale begs. Niccone looks over at me then sighs.
"You swear?" Niccone asks me. I hold my hands up. "I didn't know I was a Lycan let alone did I know about your sister." I say with a frown. "Swear on it Chris." I bite my lip. He called me Chris. He is taking this serious.
"I swear."
