Chapter Three~
I wake up with the left side of my face throbbing. I look at the clock to see it's ten in the moving. I get up and walk out to the balcony to get some air.
I have on black cheerleading shorts and an elbow length Bob Marley shirt on. The cold air feels good on my face and under my feet. I swing up on the rail to sit down. I see kids from maybe eleven to twenty running and fighting. Hank looks up and waves. I'm on the top floor which is ten stories high. He somehow climbs up the building and sits beside me. My hair covers my face.
"Have you seen Niccone?" He asks.
"No not today."
"Are you okay?" He asks with clear concern.
"I'm fine." He leans over and moves the hair out of my face.
"He hit you?" He asks. His eyes start to change color.
"No."
"Then-"
"Fell."
"Fine whatever." He says. "I've got to get back to teaching them to fight but see you later." He says and pushes off the rail. He lands in a crouch and then stands up and runs off.
I go back in my room. I'm glad I took a shower last night. I open the door and go down the hallway. No one is here.
It looks like a penthouse. I see a kitchen and go to it. "I figured you would look for some food soon." Victoria says.
"Luna." I say.
"I just love your manners!" She shouts. "But there is a thing of fruits and melons in there you can eat and I heard you like Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream so I got you some." She says.
"Thank you." I say grabbing the tub of fruits.
"Here is some jerky so you can have some meat." She adds. I keep my head in the fridge.
"Thank you."
"Well I have other Lunas to help." She says walking off. I grab the bag of jerky and put it on the tub of fruit. I also grab some water. I make my way back to my room. I set my stuff down.
"Forgot a fork." I say. I go back and grab a fork. I go back to my room and a door opens as I start to go in. I turn around to see Niccone.
I look down and slam my door shut."Chris? You're awake I know you are mad-"
I open the door. I move my hair from my face. "Yet you wonder why I fear you." I snap shutting the door. I lock it and go back to my meal. I look in the mirror and wince when I see it.
Most of the left side of my face is yellow, purple, blue and black. No wonder Hank was worried. I should be worried about my face. About two hours later I pick up my mess and carry it back to the kitchen.
The t.v is on and a whole bunch of boys are in the living room playing X-Box. I watch them from the kitchen.
"Are you just going to creep in there or are you going to be social?" Hank asks. I don't answer him but I walk in there taking his remote.
"Trust me I can beat all of you." I say.
"I'm not sure you can handle the pressure Schneider." He jokes.
"Oh trust me I can handle pressure." I shoot back. Niccone is sitting by himself.
"These are the sons of Alphas, Betas, and Gammas." Hank says.
"If I would have known mates were allowed I would have brought Dell." One says. He is a Beta.
"She isn't my mate." Hank says.
