I have returned! Lol.
Karma's POV
It's been a week since the side kicks and Red Arrow have come to my apartment to help me recover from my most recent bout of sickness.
For the first several days I was largely in and out of consciousness, which is probably the only reason any of them are still alive.
It was when I was awake that was the problem.
I have never been more furious in my entire life. These teenagers, several of which are younger than me, have forced me to remain bedridden for an entire week's time! I have been humiliated; fed by hand, not allowed to hold my own food, assisted to and from the bathroom, tucked in, poked, prodded, and PETTED all without any permission from me! THIS IS MY HOUSE! They have some nerve! I might as well give them a key, since they come and go as they please either way.
I don't care if they were taking care of me, I could have hired a nurse if that's something I wanted! They won't even leave me alone for more than a minute, and it's MADDENING!
Not only that, but Robin has been reporting literally everything that I've been up to in the past week to the League! Including that little TV robbery incident where I used my ability. Fantastic.
Now that I'm finally feeling better, with only some sporadic coughs hanging on, I'm sitting in my living room, awaiting a visit from the mentors of the sidekicks currently fretting over me.
For this meeting, I insisted on sitting out in the living room, not wanting to be trapped in my bed any longer. You'd think I'd been asking to commit murder with the way they were protesting.
Thankfully, Roy at least has some common sense and understood my preference to not be seen as even more vulnerable than I'd already very clearly advertised.
So now, here we are, sitting on the couch while Kid Flash, Aqualad, and Robin are piling blankets on me, fussing over the couch pillows, and making tea, respectively.
"What's wrong with them," I mutter to the only other sane person in my house as Robin rushes over to me and sets a warm cup of tea in my hands before wandering off again.
"Lots of things," Roy responds amusedly, urging me to drink some of the hot beverage. I can't contain a roll of my eyes. He's almost as bad as they are.
"You didn't have to stay," I say not unkindly, despite my intention to sound annoyed.
Roy chuckles a bit, "I wouldn't want to leave you alone with the three musketeers here."
I smirk, "what about Superboy? What does he classify as?"
He mirrors my expression and gestures over to where the clone of Superman is dutifully handing more pillows to Aqualad, who is very focused in his arrangement, "the faithful squire."
Even from my spot on the couch, I spot Superboy's slightly disgruntled expression. I laugh a little.
"I think Mr. super hearing squire heard you."
"And?"
Oh, this absolute troll.
"Maybe you're not that bad."
Roy surprises me by leaning in a little closer, wrapping a comforting arm around my shoulder.
"Thank you," he says smugly.
"Or maybe you are," I shoot back, deadpan.
After a moment of silence between us, we break into a fit of chuckles.
