Wow it has been quite a while. I do not own the song above, young justice, or the picture in this chapter.

Sorry about the wait, here is the next chapter!

Karma's POV

My body feels heavy, I shouldn't have gone on that walk.

I didn't think the trip to my garden would tire me out so much, but it did. I need to be careful, or I'll catch a fever again.

That didn't stop me from going to see Maria, though. She's the only person I can talk to, the only one I can trust. I just wish she'd stop making those death jokes; I don't want her to die, she CAN'T die. She's all I have.

I just want her to stop talking about things like that.

Not to mention, she brought up making friends again. I understand her concern, but if I've learned anything in this life, it's that I can't trust people. Everyone has an ulterior motive, except Maria.

This is part of the reason I refuse to approach the heroes of this world. No matter how good they are, they wouldn't pass up the chance to have someone with infinite luck in their group. I know they wouldn't try anything underhanded, but still.

I don't want to be used.

The elevator beeps, and I start to shake as I meander into my apartment. I feel weak, I need to sit down.

As soon as the thought of lying down enters my head, I hear the balcony door click open, and Red Arrow enters my home.

"Karma Moon," Red Arrow calls as he walks further into my apartment.

Ugh, this guy has awful timing.

Trying not to stumble, I grip onto my kitchen counter and lower myself onto a bar stool, resting my head in my hand. Without looking at him, I ask "what are you doing here, Red Arrow?"

The young hero approaches me, eyes flicking across my apartment, taking in everything.

He opens his mouth to answer me, when suddenly his attention is on my computer that I didn't remember having open. My song files and rough drafts for my books are open on the home screen, and after a moment, Roy's eyes widen.

His head whips back to me, shock evident on his face.

"You're Winter Moon?!"

I "tsk" angrily, feeling awful and losing my patience, I open one eye to glare at him.

"Yes. I am, and I appreciate my privacy, so if you don't want your secret identity leaked, I suggest you keep mine under wraps, Roy Harper."

Red Arrow seems to have overcome his shock, and now his eyes are narrowed dangerously as he takes a threatening step forward.

"How do you know my secret identity? Who are you really?!"

Ngh, this is bad. I don't know how much longer I can stay conscious. I need him to leave.

"I just told you, smart guy. I'm Winter Moon. I'm also tired. For most of you heroes, it only takes one good look at you to figure out who you are. That, and a little common sense. Now, I'd like to go rest if that's okay with you."

Roy looks like he's about to burst a blood vessel until his face abruptly takes on a surprised and slightly concerned look.

I must really look like crap if hothead here actually calmed down long enough to notice how I'm feeling.

"What's wrong with you? You're pale, and you're shaking."

Shit, I hadn't even realized I was shaking; I need to get to my bedroom, at least in there he probably won't follow me. Taking hold of the counter once more, I unsteadily raise myself to my feet, keeping Red Arrow in the corner of my eye. I'm only able to take a wobbly step towards my bedroom before the elevator beeps, and five heroes and four protégés rush into my apartment.
