Hey! Just a reminder, Karma is a reincarnated OC who watched Young Justice in his past life. That will also be mentioned this chapter, I just wanted to let you all know now.

Another thing, at certain points I will be specifying what time it is in the story, and it will be in military time, just like in Young Justice.

Enjoy the chapter!

Karma's POV

I am sitting at my bar stool counter top, currently snacking on an apple as I watch the news from my living room TV. Sometimes I am still in awe at the luxury of my penthouse; in my old life I never knew such grandeur, and now I am a multi billionaire living in a universe I only watched on television in my past life. Not only am I in the Young Justice universe, but I'm also a rich meta human, and a famous author and singer.

Ever since moving into this penthouse, I've spent most of my time writing my books and releasing songs under my alias "Winter Moon." If I'm not doing that, I'm either watching the news, hiding in my secret garden, or doing online classes.

I've been homeschooled my whole life, so I've never once been to an actual school since being reborn here. I'm only seventeen, but I've already finished my K-12 schooling a while ago. Now I just do language classes and other electives online for extra activity. I don't know what I want to go to college for yet, so for now I'm just writing books and producing music, and helping the Justice League secretly by using my power through watching the news. It does get a little lonely sometimes, having no friends or family to talk to, but I manage.

There is one lady I talk to who lives at the bottom floor of my apartment building. She's an older woman, but she's very lively and kind to me. She is the only person that is a regular part of my life. I met her for the first time when I was eleven, and moving into this building's penthouse sweet. She had given me a long look, and commented on my appearance. But instead of something negative or cruel, like I had been hearing all my life, she told me I looked handsome, and was blessed by God with good looks. No one had ever said anything like that to me before, and so I didn't know how to react. I simply stared at her with wide eyes, and she had smiled at me, before giving me her number and telling me to call her if I ever needed anything.

I hadn't been sure what to do with the number, and for a month it went discarded. I never forgot it though; how could I forget about the first person in this world who was kind to me?

However, then came the day when my parents stopped paying for my rent, and left me completely alone and penniless. I was terrified; I had no idea what was going to happen to me. So, not knowing what else to do, I called the old woman's number. She told me how to get to her room on the first floor, and after she sat me down, I spilled everything. How my parents disowned me because of my appearance, how they sent me to live on my own, and how they stopped paying for me all together.

Throughout the whole thing, the woman just listened quietly. Once I was done, I was nearly in tears, and she leaned over and hugged me. The first time I was hugged, and it wasn't even by my parents, but by some stranger I met once a month ago. I started crying harder, but couldn't deny how warm it felt to be hugged by this woman. She simply held me until I stopped crying, and without leaning back, she had told me, "sometimes, when all we can see is darkness, we need to close our eyes and just feel the light."

I wasn't sure about the truth of what she said, but I still couldn't help and close my eyes, thinking how lucky I was that I met someone like her.

That was the moment something changed in me. I suddenly remembered about books and songs in my previous world that didn't exist here, and had the idea of recreating them in this world to earn a living. That was the first of many bouts of luck, and the moment I realized my power. I had supernatural luck; from that point forward everything seemed to go my way. Nothing could ever hurt me, and the universe itself seemed to want to split in half to make a path for my existence. I never would have realized any of it if it were not for that woman.
