Chapter 122 - Great Anxiety

Two days later, Lisa was able to walk without needing any assistance. The bruises on her body were starting to fade.

Even though Jungkook was very busy due to Nancy’s issue, he never once left her side. Aside from going out to take occasional calls from Jung Ho-seok, Jungkook never left Lisa alone.

Even if he already appointed a few more bodyguards for Lisa, Jungkook felt that it was not enough.

After two days of searching, they were finally able to salvage Nancy’s car. The bad news was, Nancy’s corpse was nowhere to be found.

Jung Ho-seok did not lose hope until they spotted something that was floating near the small cave under the cliff.

When they fished it out, they found a disfigured female body. The woman was burned from head to toe. Although she was wearing clothes, her body was covered with burn marks and her face was totally destroyed. If not for her slim waist and curved chest, they wouldn’t be able identify her gender.

When they successfully retrieved the corpse, Jung Ho-seok immediately notified Jungkook about it.

Jungkook was currently flirting with Lisa when his phone rang.

It was Jung Ho-seok who was calling.

Lisa immediately understood the situation and nodded. Since Lisa already knew about Nancy’s matter, Jungkook decided to answer the call without going outside the room, allowing Lisa to hear the entire conversation through loud speaker.

"Speak."

"Boss. We were able to salvage Miss Nancy’s car. Her body was not inside but we found a corpse near the location. It’s a female corpse but her entire body is burned and we can’t identify her. I already delivered the body to the police. They will run some DNA test and other medical tests to find out if it matches with Miss Nancy’s."

"En. You did a good job. Inform me later. When will we receive the results?"

"The fastest is this evening, latest is tomorrow morning"

Jung Ho-seok was told by the Chief of police that since they were outside Beijing, they would have to bring the corpse back to Beijing.

It would be faster to conduct the test in Beijing because the facilities were up to date.

It would normally take 3-7 days for DNA testing but they needed the results early so they could only perform the test using state of the art machines. They needed the result in forty eight hours or less.

Jungkook also knew about it so he did not mind waiting for tomorrow to find out everything.

"Mmm.. I understand, call me once you are done."

"Yes. This subordinate understands."

Jungkook turned his head and looked at Lisa. He saw her frowning. He could not help but touch the wrinkles on her forehead.

"What’s wrong?"

"Nothing... It’s just that.... It feels... Surreal. If the corpse was really Nancy’s... Isn’t it a little... I dunno, disappointing? I really can’t believe she just died like that... Jungkook, do you think that Nancy is truly dead?"

No matter what others say, Lisa felt like everything was fake. Nancy’s grudge and obsession has reached the 9th heaven. It would be impossible for her to give up just like that and choose to commit suicide.

Jungkook smiled as he tried to stroke her face.

"Do not worry. We will find out everything tomorrow morning. Whether she is really dead or not, we will definitely know. If she is truly dead, it is a blessing on her part. At least, she died instantly.

If she really faked her death, I will make sure to give her the taste of her own medicine. The evil things she did, I will make sure that she will experience everything. So, don’t worry anymore. Just focus on recuperating. You must take good care of your health because there is a little being growing inside you."

Lisa nodded.

Indeed. Jungkook was correct. Instead if thinking about Nancy’s matter, she better put her attention on nursing herself well. She must take good care of Little Bump.

The couple decided to forget Nancy’s issue. They did not want to constantly think of negative thoughts.

Night passed and the couple is now sleeping together on the bed. Since Lisa was currently recuperating inside a small hospital, although the facilities were okay and the VIP rooms were passable, it was still unable to compare with the hospitals in the capital, which made Jungkook’s heart ache deeply for his wife’s situation.

So as the husband, Jungkook immediately summoned the director of the hospital to inform him about his absurd request. After paying a huge sum of money for compensation, he immediately decided to renovate Lisa’s room.

Both husband and wife was still sleeping soundly when Jungkook’s phone rang.

It was Jung Ho-seok who was calling them early in the morning.

Jungkook answered his phone as he pulled the sleeping Lisa closer. He did not know why but he suddenly felt anxious.

He was very anxious and he did not know why.

"How is it?"

"Boss. I already received the result."

"Mmm.. speak. Is it Nancy’s corpse or not?"
