"I wanna hold you just for a while, and Die with a smile".
🥀Author's POV:
The godown was dimly lit, the air heavy with the scent of dust and oil. Navya sat bound to a chair, her wrists raw from the rough ropes. Her lips pressed tightly against the gag, muffling her desperate attempts to scream. She struggled against her bonds, panic coursing through her veins as she heard the footsteps of Arjun's uncle echoing in the cavernous space.
"Your precious Arjun won't make it out alive," the man sneered, his voice dripping with malice. He fiddled with a remote device, setting the trap that would seal Arjun's fate. Navya's heart raced as she pieced together his plan. Jayesh started sprinkling petrol all over the godown. She widened her eyes, silently pleading with fate to give her a chance. Despite the fear gripping her, Navya knew she couldn't let this happen. Arjun had to know.
With all her strength, she tipped the chair to one side, crashing hard onto the concrete floor. The sound startled the uncle, who turned to see Navya glaring at him, defiance burning in her eyes even as she lay helpless.
"Feisty, aren't we?" he chuckled darkly. "But it won't change anything."
But Navya wasn't giving up. Even bound and gagged, her mind worked furiously to find a way to warn Arjun.
The godown was eerily quiet, save for the faint crackle of petrol-soaked surfaces and the slow drip of leaking fuel. Arjun stepped inside, his eyes locking on Navya, bound to a chair with ropes cutting into her skin. Her mouth was gagged, her tear-streaked face a silent warning for him to stop.
"Navya," Arjun whispered, his voice filled with resolve. "I'm here. I'll get you out of this."
Jayesh emerged from the shadows, clapping mockingly. "How touching. The great Arjun, walking into the lion's den for love."
Arjun's jaw tightened. "Let her go, Jayesh. This is between you nd me."
Jayesh smirked, stepping closer. "Oh, it's always been between us, hasn't it? You were always the golden boy, always getting everything while I was left with scraps."
"Bua didn't deserve what you did to her and neither does navya," Arjun said coldly, his fists clenching.
"Priya begged for her life," Jayesh sneered. "Just like your wife will. Do you know how satisfying it was to stab her, to watch the light leave her eyes?"
Arjun surged forward, fury overtaking him. He landed a solid punch across Jayesh's jaw, sending him stumbling backward. Jayesh quickly recovered, grabbing a metal pipe and swinging it at Arjun. The sound of the impact echoed as Arjun blocked the blow with his forearm, wincing but holding his ground.
They exchanged brutal punches, the fight raw and visceral. Blood trickled from the corner of Arjun's mouth, but he pressed on, landing a powerful kick to Jayesh's chest that sent him crashing into a stack of barrels.
Meanwhile, Navya twisted her wrists desperately against the ropes. The gag muffled her cries as she watched her husband fight for their lives. With one final push she freed her hands and yanked the gag off gasping for air.
"Arjun, stop! He's trying to-"
Before she could finish, Jayesh grabbed her by the arm and pressed a gun to her temple.
"Not another step, or she dies!" Jayesh bellowed, his face twisted in rage.
At that moment, the sound of sirens blared outside, and Arnav, Ekansh, and a team of policemen burst in, their weapons drawn.
"Let her go, Jayesh!" Ekansh commanded.
Jayesh chuckled darkly.
"You think I care about your threats? One wrong move, and she's gone."
Everyone froze. The tension in the room was suffocating.
"What do you want?" Arjun asked, his voice trembling with both fear and determination.
Jayesh grinned. "I want you to kneel. Beg for forgiveness. Beg for your wife's life."
"Don't do it, Arjun!" Navya cried, tears streaming down her face. "Don't let him win!"
Arjun's eyes softened as he looked at her. "Navya, for you, I'll do anything."
Without hesitation, he sank to his knees, his gaze unwavering as he stared at Jayesh. "Please. Let her go."
Navya sobbed, shaking her head. "No, Arjun! Don't!"
Jayesh cackled, relishing the sight of Arjun's submission.
But in his moment of triumph, Navya seized her chance. She elbowed him hard in the stomach, forcing him to release his grip on her.
Arjun sprang into action, grabbing a fallen knife from the ground. With a swift, precise motion, he stabbed Jayesh in the chest, mirroring the way Priya had been killed.
"This is for Bua," Arjun said, his voice filled with righteous anger.
Jayesh collapsed to the ground, clutching his wound. Blood seeped from his chest, but he managed a twisted smile. "If I go, I'm taking you all with me."
From his pocket, he pulled out a lighter and flicked it. Flames erupted instantly, racing across the petrol-soaked floor.
And before they knew, the flames erupted into a BLAST.
