"Bae, what you got me for Christmas?" Kayson asked, leaning back like he owned the damn place.
I side-eyed him from my phone.
Am I wrong for being over his whole existence?I wished I was with Kaliyah instead, wrapped up in her vibe, not sitting here listening to him plan out gifts I ain't even get him.
To make it worse, I forgot to buy him anything at all but I got Kaliyah decked out. Twenty-plus gifts, all wrapped pretty. For him? Not a damn thing.
Am I pussy-whipped?
I never felt like this before. Kaliyah got me doing things I didn't even know I was capable of feeling. Meanwhile, Kayson... I can barely stomach being in the same room.
"Bae?" he called again, snapping me out my thoughts.
"Huh?" I looked up, trying to fake interest.
"What you get me?"
I shrugged. "What you want?"
"I want some Amiri jeans," he said, flashing that little smile that used to do something for me. Now it just annoyed me.
I nodded slowly. *Yeah, no. That's not happening.*
"You been acting kinda weird," he said, leaning forward. "What's up with you?"
I hesitated. Should I just tell him? Should I let it all out right now and end this?
"Actually, no. I'm not good," I said, putting my phone down.
He frowned. "What you mean?"
"I mean... I been cheating on you, Kayson." The words came out before I could stop them.
The room went dead silent.
"What the fuck did you just say?" His voice was low, dangerous.
"I said, I been cheating," I repeated, crossing my arms.
"With who?" he snapped, his eyes narrowing.
"That don't matter," I said, standing firm.
"It don't matter?" He stood up, towering over me. "Bitch you out here dogging me, and it don't fucking matter?"
