A/N: Sorry I haven't updated this in a bit. I not only got severe writer's block, and my mental health had gotten bad but I'm back bitches. There is no trigger warning for this chapter.

I pull into the driveway, glad that Steve isn't home. I go inside, expecting no one to be home, when my mom scares me by greeting me from her room. I peek into her packing a suitcase. "What are you doing?" I ask. She smiles at me and comes to the side, holding out a pack of cigs. My eyes widen in shock.

"Oh don't look at me like that. We all have our secrets right?" She takes one and lights it "He won't be home for hours and I make sure to light candles. Our anniversary is tomorrow and Steve is taking me on a cruise." She wiggles her brows in excitement. I sit on her bed to listen to her. "I swear that man is full of surprises. For two weeks we'll be gone out in the Bahamas. She flops down holding the cigarette away from my face. "Isn't it magical," I smile nodding letting her forget all the horror that is Steve. She looked like her old self whom I hadn't seen in years. Not since she stopped being a veterinarian. She loved working with the animals but due to Steve who helped her retire early. "Oh if your father was there imagine his amazement of the little ocean critters. We are going to be swimming with sharks."

"Yeah he would've loved that," I smile. "I remember the scuba trips he never let me go out too far." I laugh. "You're too little so swim with little fish," We say in unison before busting out in a fit of laughter.  We sit for a minute before the air turns somber. "I wonder what it would be like if he was still here. No Steve that's for sure." She sits up and takes a deep breath. I feel guilt seep its way in. She turns with a warm fake smile.

"How about we go out to lunch just me and you?" She offers. I nod and hop into the shower quickly before getting ready. We head out and go into a nice little bar and grill. "We haven't gotten to catch up" She smiles sitting across from me. "I hope it wasn't all bad when you left" I felt this was going to go this way. I've been here for about four months and haven't been able to sit down and have a serious talk with her.

"No there was some good the ending sucked that's for sure" I nod "When did it get worse?"

"Not long after you left" She admits. "I swear he wasn't like that and there is so much good in him I know it that's why I stay. It's just after the crash and all the pain pills it changed him" The waitress comes and takes our order before rushing off to the next table the place being busy due to the lunch rush. "He never gave me the real answer to why you left." She admits

"Are you sure you want to know, I mean you're about to go on a cruise with him." She nods a serious look on her face. "I couldn't take it anymore. After having to miss my best friend's funeral over the fact he didn't agree with who he chose to love and said he was going to hell for it I was done. So when the way out was shown I left. I was a dumb kid though I shouldn't have. If I could go back I'd stay and do little ways of rebellion so his focus could stick to me and not to you." I admit she nods tears in her eyes. "What did he tell you?"

"That you left cause of me," The silence that came over us was loud. It was as if no one else was there just silence. We are both drawn out of the silence by our food. "Let's change the topic this is just sad," She laughs. "What did you go do last night?"

"We had a gig." I smile "It was fun and David came to see us perform." She looks at me a smile working its way across her face.

"David?" I roll my eyes I haven't told her about him yet. We haven't had the chance to sit and talk.

"Yeah, we met not that long ago, and no we aren't dating."  She raises her brow not believing me. "Why does everyone do that we aren't dating?" I laugh. "Anyways it went well, but what about you what are you doing all day."
