I hear the door knock and open it, letting David in. "It's going to be okay." He comments. "We can't be seen on camera."

"What about mom being a suspect?" I fold my arms still trembling. "Janet thinks I had something to do with it as well. Saying I got you guys to do it. For all I know I'm a suspect as well and if Janet has told her theory to police so are you guys."

"It's being handled." He runs a hand through his hair. "This isn't my first rodeo sugar."

"Well, then you better start explaining what is going to happen because right now I'm in a constant state of panic."

"Dwayne used hypnosis to have everyone forget. So to them, we have an alibi and we never left. They remember a night of drinks and movies. They will all say you were there and so were we it's a solid alibi. Your mom remembers him walking out. When we killed him we dumped his body next to a bar that gets a shit ton of fights and gang activity. Once they question everyone they won't know anything. We will get a dirtbag just like him to have the memory of an argument and then killing him. Dwayne is doing that as we speak." I felt nerves running rampant. This will work. He grabs my shoulders. "I said it would be okay and it will." I nod. "So who why is your mom in jail."

"It's a long story." I wipe away the tears. "We had Steve's stuff in the driveway and his mom came to get it. She was out there yelling for us to come out for like an hour before I went out there telling her to stop and leave. She slapped me, spit on me, and made the accusations. Mom pulled me back inside and punched her which led to an all-out brawl between the two. Not just that her two burly sons tried getting in on it and I had no choice but to call the cops which wasn't the first time today. Mom said some not-so-savory things in her speech before we left and Janet and her other son who is also in jail came following. It was a whole thing. That's when the cop told me that mom wasn't making it look good for herself. Said she is a suspect. They are thinking murder for hire." I sit on the couch. I lean against him. "I'm so tired but I don't want to be alone. I don't know if the other two will show up. If Janet thinks I'm involved, while true, her sons believe it as well."

"If you want to go to bed I'll stay here." I look up.

"Promise?" he nods I get up and stretch "Okay I'm going to hop in the shower. Make yourself at home kay?" I smile. I get out shorts and a spaghetti strap tank before hopping in. As the hot water runs down my body making me crave sleep even more I try to put this all behind me. It wasn't easy. I think more about what it would be like to have to deal with this for eternity. I know they don't ever get this close though. This is a rare occasion. Would I even be able to do it? The thought of eternal youth sounds amazing but having to kill. I knew I couldn't feed on just anyone. If this is something I'm going to do then I need to have a target type. People like John and Steve would be best. Child predators, rapists, and pure evil would be my food. I shake the feelings away. It isn't something I need to consider any time soon. I need to know more about what it means to be a vampire first. I need to learn more about the life. I leave the shower and I try to snuggle in bed. My mind was too loud. I bet he could hear if he tried. I sit up biting my lip trying to get the nerve to get up. After a moment of debating I realize I won't be able to sleep alone.  I go downstairs and peek into the living area. He was watching a movie of some sort. "D-David" I try not to startle him. He turns and instantly his eyes are wandering shamelessly. "Do you think it'd be okay if you laid down with me? Just till I fell asleep?" I had never seen a man get up as quickly as he did shutting the TV off. A smile plastered on his face. He meets me at the top of the stairs leaning close.

"Of course, I'd love to." He glances back down at the rest of my body making me become self-conscious of the outfit I chose.

"No funny business." I pout playfully. He rolls his eyes muttering under his breath. "I'm serious." I smile enjoying his childish behavior. Like a kid being denied candy.
