Chapter eight: No, please don't make me

It's been a week since I agreed to stay and everything is going great. Luke and I have gotten really close but I still haven't told him about my past in my old pack. I just cover my scars with long clothes. I smile as I feel Luke's arm tighten around my waist in his sleep. I snuggle into his chest trying to get back asleep. A while later a knocking on the door wakes me up. I groan and slip out of the bed to answer the door. I open it to see Mia bouncing on the balls of her feet and squeals " we are going shopping!" And runs off.

I yawn and pull out a pair of jeans and a long sleeved jersey . I go into the bathroom and close the door to get dressed. Once I'm done I open the door and begin to brush my teeth. I look up as Luke walks in and drop my toothbrush because he is only in his boxers and I see his well defined six pack. I gulp and look away before my wolf can throw more images at me. I rinse my mouth with mouthwash and ask " why do I have to go shopping again, for the third time? ". Luke chuckles " I swear your the only girl who hates shopping " he says shaking his head.

I laugh and kiss his cheek " I'm going down for breakfast" I say and skip downstairs into the kitchen to see Chase and Mia kissing enthusiastically " INNOCENT EYES" I shout covering my eyes. They pull away with a roll of their eyes while Mia smirks " you won't be saying that soon when Luke has his way with you " she says quietly. I ignore her blushing slightly " why do we have to go shopping again? " I ask incredulously as I pull out the bread to make some toast. " because shopping is fun " she answers immediately. I roll my eyes and place the bread in the toaster " shopping is fun, yeah more like torture" I mutter. Mia gasps while Chase chuckles because they both heard what I said due to our heightened senses.

Luke comes down just as I finish my toast, he kisses my cheek and hands me his credit card. " No I'm not getting anything, I don't need your card" I tell him and hand it back. After ten minutes of arguing whether or not I need the card. " fine " I growl and take the card from his hand. I give him a quick kiss on the cheek and walk out the door as he chuckles. I climb into the passenger seat and switch on the radio. I begin to hum along with the radio while Mia belts out the lyrics to the song.

After two exhausting hours of mia bouncing from shop to shop and trying on clothes we are finally done.I bought a few band t-shirts and CD's. We get back in the car and drive home. I smile as we arrive and run upstairs to put away my things. After hanging up my t-shirts I set out to find my sexy mate. I knock on his office door and open it open I hear him telling me to enter. I quickly sit down in the spare chair waiting for him to finish.

I place his card on the desk " thanks again" I tell him while he nods still concentrating on the file he is reading " what's mine is yours and we have a pack visiting soon to meet you " he says while cleaning his desk. " what pack?" I question curiously. " The BlackShadow Pack " he informs me. I begin to shake as flashbacks explode my mind " no, please don't make me " I begin to plead with Luke trying to stop the flashbacks. I shake more and get a cold sweat as the flashbacks continue " no, no, I can't " I begin to whisper as Luke pulls me into a hug as I'm still shaking violently.

I don't know how long we stay in the embrace but there is a knock on the door. I pull away and try to control my irratic breathing. Luke opens the door and a member of the pack tell Luke they are here. Luke kneels beside me " what's wrong baby?" He whispers. I slow my breathing and stand up " nothing " I reply. " you can do this, you have changed, they won't recognize you " my wolf tells me soothingly. Luke looks at me unconvinced " you will tell me later " he says sternly. I nod in agreement and entwine our fingers to let Luke bring me to the gathering.

We go out the back door and I gulp seeing tonnes of people gathered. Everyone begins to move out of our way and all too soon I begin seeing members of my old pack. I keep my head down as they move out of the way bringing me closer to my torturer and the sole purpose of my scars and nightmares. My wolf begins to snarl and I struggle to hold her back and keep control. Once we reach the centre of the group I shrink ba k and let Luke do the talking. I shiver as I hear the voice that is branded in my head.

" ah Luke nice to see you again and this time with your lovely mate" he says with fake happiness. I sneak a glance at him and see a glint of evil flicker across his face. Luke begins to talk and I stare at my feet. I get pulled out of my thoughts as Luke squeezes my hand. I look up " and she is back on earth " chuckles the monster. I look at the monster and smirk " hello father " I say. Gasps echo from all he spectators as my father and I are locked in a staring contest. " Eva " comes a soft whisper.

I turn to look behind my father to see my mother, she runs father and grabs me into a hug. I flinch back, growl and push her away from me. " Don't touch me " I tell her menacly. " Eva " I hear Luke's horrified voice. I whirl around " what?" I bark out. " That's your mother and father" he says disgusted. I burst out laughing " they are not, they are monsters " I tell them seriously. I step towards my father " ah daddy, do you not have anything to say ? " I ask him out of curiosity. He gulps " I thought you were dead " he mutters.

" Oh no, after you kicked me out, I got attacked by a rogue and was close to death but a pack of rogues saved me and raised me " I tell him cheerfully. He growls out " I should have injected you with enough wolfsbane to kill you ". A ferocious growl rips through the quiet garden. I jump as arms wrap around me and I am flipped behind lukes back. " You dare hurt my mate " Luke spits out. I place my arms around his waist as I see him shake knowing his wolf is close to the surface.

My father smirks and says " I done it for years, night and day, I laughed as she screamed and begged for me to stop ". Luke tries to lunge but Chase and a few other warriors hold him back. I stand in front of him and notice that his eyes are pitch black, this means his wolf has taken over. I place my hands on his cheeks " Leo it's okay, I'm fine " I begin to whisper soothingly. Leo is likes wolf. He growls loudly " he hurt you, he scarred you and he will pay ". I shoe my head.

The monster begins to chuckles " what did you do to make sure hebdidjt reject you? Did you sleep with him to show you weren't worthless " he asks with menace. I turn around and slap him with such force " don't you dare say anything else. I'm not afraid of you anymore. All that you put me through has made me stronger and a better person. So you and your pack leave now" I spit at him. I turn around to a now calm Luke and I hug him. I only realise now that I'm violently shaking. I pull back and look around at the pack around me to see that the men are trying to control their wolves and women crying
