Ruhaan stepped aside, his eyes locking onto Abhay's with a desperate intensity, as he spoke words that were laced with a mix of desperation and hope."Mein aapko jaane se nahi rokunga...ab ye aapka decision hoga...aap rehna chahte ho ya jaana chahte ho"
The vulnerability in his eyes was palpable, like an open wound, as he pleaded with his brother to stay, to not abandon him. His voice trembled, his words barely above a whisper, as if he feared that speaking too loudly would shatter the fragile thread that held them together.
Abhay's eyes scanned Ruhaan's face, scouring every inch of his features, as if trying to memorize every detail, every expression. For a moment, he just stared at his younger brother, his heart heavy with emotion. He saw the desperation in Ruhaan's eyes, the fear of being left behind, and it broke his heart. He knew Ruhaan wasn't someone who would take such drastic measures lightly, and the fact that he was willing to starve himself just to make Abhay stay spoke volumes about the depth of his love and devotion.
Abhay's gaze lingered on Ruhaan's face, drinking in the sight of his younger brother's anguish. He felt a pang of guilt, knowing that he was the cause of Ruhaan's pain. His heart went out to Ruhaan, and for a moment, he wavered, unsure of what to do.....
He took a step towards Ruhaan, his feet seemingly moving of their own accord, as if drawn by an unseen force. Ruhaan's eyes, brimming with tears, locked onto Abhay's, the air thick with unspoken emotions. Ruhaan's lips parted, as if to speak, to plead with his brother to stay, contradicting against the words he spoke earlier but before he could utter a word, Abhay's phone rang, shattering the fragile moment like delicate glass.
The sound of the phone ringing was like a cold wind that swept through the surrounding extinguishing the flicker of hope that had danced in Ruhaan's eyes. Abhay's gaze flickered to the phone, and he hesitated for a moment, his fingers hovering over the screen before answering it. The conversation was brief, but the words exchanged were enough to crush Ruhaan's hopes, to snuff out the last vestiges of light in his eyes.
"Get the jet ready...I'm reaching airport," Abhay said, his voice firm and resolute, the words hanging in the air like a death sentence. Ruhaan's face crumpled, like a piece of paper.....All the hope he had pinned on his brother staying with him, all the desperate prayers he had whispered in the darkness, were shattered into a million pieces.
Ruhaan felt his heart breaking, the pain a physical, palpable thing that threatened to consume him whole. He couldn't breathe, couldn't think, as the reality of the situation sunk in, like a cold, dark tide. His brother was leaving, and he was powerless to stop him. The desperation and fear that had been simmering beneath the surface erupted, and Ruhaan felt like he was drowning in a sea of despair, the waves crashing over him, pulling him under....
As Abhay ended the call, he turned to face Ruhaan, who took two more steps back, his eyes welling up with tears like a dam about to burst. The pain and despair etched on Ruhaan's face were a palpable thing, a living, breathing entity that seemed to pulse with a life of its own. With a Herculean effort, Ruhaan controlled himself, forcing a weak, tremulous smile onto his face, a smile that was more a grimace of anguish than a genuine expression of warmth.
