Madhav's eyes locked onto his best friend's, his expression a mix of concern and empathy. He placed a reassuring hand on his friend's shoulder, a silent gesture of support. The air was thick with anticipation, heavy with the weight of secrets and revelations that were about to be revealed...
In the hall, the atmosphere was tense, the silence oppressive. Aarav sat, his eyes fixed on the letters in his hand, the words on the pages a window into the soul of his biological mother, Anupriya. The pain and anguish that seeped from the pages was palpable, crushing his heart beneath its weight.
As he read, Aarav's gaze drifted towards Abhay, who sat with his eyes cast downward, his face a mask of emotion. Omkara, too, was watching him, his eyes fixed intently on Aarav's face, his expression a mix of concern and compassion. Aakash held him close, a steady presence in the midst of turmoil.
Composing himself, Aarav took a deep breath and stood up, his movements deliberate. Omkara instinctively stepped forward, his hands reaching out to support his brother, but Aarav halted him with a raised hand. Omkara's eyes flashed with hurt, but he stepped back, his face a mask of understanding.
Aarav's eyes locked onto Harsh, his voice devoid of emotion. "What was your reason to hide my identity, dad...?" The words cut through the air, a stark reminder of the secrets that had been kept hidden for so long. For the first time in 32 years, Aarav addressing Harsh with their relation felt different, the distance between them palpable.
Aarav's voice was laced with anguish, his words a cry from the heart. "I get it, Anupriya ji...loved you...Per aapko ya unhe ye haq kisne diya...to erase my identity...to make me believe I was an orphan...apne hi ghar mein hokar bhi ajnabi hone ka ehsaas rehta hi tha dil mein..." The pain in his voice was a palpable thing, a living, breathing entity that seemed to pulse with every beat of his heart.
Abhay closed his eyes..his face a mask of emotion. Aarav's words cut deep, a rejection of the mother who had given her life for him. Harsh's voice was a gentle protest, a plea for understanding. "I never said...you were an orphan, Aaru...maine tujhe hamesha apna beta kaha hai."
Aarav's response was a stark denial, a rejection of the truth that Harsh had spoken. "No, you did not," he said, his voice firm, his eyes flashing with a deep-seated pain.
"Aarav's voice trembled, his words pouring out like a dam breaking, releasing a torrent of emotions that had been pent up for years. "You never accepted me as your son...you never did it...jis tarah you accepted Abhay as your own son, your firstborn....you never did for me..." The pain in his voice was a palpable thing, a living, breathing entity that seemed to pulse with every beat of his heart.
"I was your son...but," his voice cracked, even acknowledging it. The words hung in the air, a stark reminder of the truth that had been hidden for so long. "Kyun kiya aapne aisa?" he asked, his eyes welling up with tears, his voice shaking with emotion.
His steps faltered, and he swayed, as if the weight of his emotions was too much to bear. Harsh rushed to his side, holding him, trying to offer comfort. "Aarav, baith pehle," he said, his voice soft, his eyes filled with concern.
But Aarav shook his head, his eyes flashing with anger, with hurt. "You broke me, dad...you broke me," he repeated, his voice cracking with emotion. "Mujhse lagta tha kitna khush naseeb hu mein...I used to feel so lucky...ki mere khudh ke parents ne bhale hi mujhe tukhra diya ho, but you accepted me...Mumma accepted me...ek anath ko ghar diya...itna pyaar diya...but..." His voice trailed off, the pain and anguish too much to bear.
