Practice was only tomorrow, so Jonathan had lots of time to rest. It was 8:33pm , so he thought it was time to finally go to sleep. After he fell asleep, his cell phone rang, but he was fast asleep.
"Hello? Johnny? Are you there?" Says an unknown voice
Jonathan is still fast asleep.
"Well, I just wanted to tell you something. It's over"
The person hangs up. Toews has no idea what just happened, but he'll find out when he wakes up.
The Next Morning
He checks his self phone. It's 7:45 am.
"Oh crud, I'm going to get in huge trouble if I don't go to practice on time." He said to himself, forgetting his phone on his nightstand. He goes outside to be greeted by his neighbor. He takes a taxi to the stadium, which took long because they were stuck in a traffic jam.
"Come on chimp! Your late! Let's go!" Keith jokingly says
Toews didn't find that amusing.
A few minutes later he's on the ice ready to play.
"Ok everybody, get to your normal position. Prospects with me." Coach Arn said
Toews, Sharp and a few others went with coach.
"We are doing some skating drills. Now CHOP CHOP!"
They all did what Coach Arn told them to do
"Hey Tazer!! MOVE THOSE LEGS!"
"Jeez Coach, eat a snickers " he chuckled
Sharp laughed silently along with him. Soon, practice was over.
"All of you, good work today. Remember, today is contact negotiation day. Top Six Players, Prospects and Bottom 6. Have a good afternoon.
It was a couple of hours from his time to negotiate his entry level contract, so he decided to ride home and have some friends over, so he invited Patty Sharp over.
They had a couple of beers, enjoyed themselves. Then they looked at the clock. Negotiating Time.
